| Great tour and at night when the crowds aren't out gives plenty of space to enjoy the segway. Very fun. | ||||||

| As a local, I didn't need the tourist facts although it seemed to be pretty well done. I went for the riding experience, which is a lot of fun. Only takes about 10 minutes to get reasonably comfortable, and by the end of the ride, I felt like an expert. Streets are pretty crowded at midday; evening might be better. | ||||||

Great Tour; Unenthusiastic Guides

| The Segway tour of the DC Capital buildings was the right way to see all the monuments of DC. The Segways performed flawlessly, and the size of the group was ideal -- about a dozen or so. The guides were great at the logistics of threading the group through flocks of tourists and between clumps of traffic. However, as a tour of the monuments of the capital, the trip had some shortcomings. It was difficult to hear the guides because they had no amplification or speakers. With the traffic & tourist noises all around, you frequently couldn't hear their patter. The dialog was delivered with that '13th time today' lassitude that guides get after months of spewing the same patter with little variation. They were perfunctory, but not excited by the seeting or the history surrounding them. I'd still recommend the tour, especially if you haven't been on a Segway, and if you have the chance to follow up on the buildings of specific interest to you. | ||||||

| My wife and I did the evening tour and thoroughly loved it! The monuments at night are completely different than in the day - the sidewalks are not crowded and you can zip along at top speed - our guide was full of great information and humor - and our whole group had a great time. Going up to the Capitol and White House at night was really nice. The segways were surprisingly easy to learn how to use - within 5 minutes, it was so intuitive that one didn't even have to think about how to drive it - it went where we wanted it to go. Highly recommended for both visitors to the city and for residents as well - it's a very different way to see the sights. Thanks much!! | ||||||

| This really was a worthwhile activity! The staff were really really great, and the tour itself was so much fun. You're really able to go at your own speed, and beyond a helmet and a very good safety talk you are not babysat and your safety and the speed you go at is up to you. I really liked this. Loads of fun, I'd recommend it to anyone! | ||||||

| This was definitely a highlight of our trip to Washington, DC. This is the was to get around - no doubt. The tour guide was the best, the tour was super, and the Segways were the coolest. I would recommend this as part of a D.C. visit every time! You have to do this. When you get there, these things are everywhere and if you are not on one, you wish you were! | ||||||

| My nephew and his friend, both about 20, were visiting me in DC so I treated them to the tour. I've wanted to do the tour myself for some time, so I went too. We loved it! Just a couple comments: 1. Suggest that folks bring a bottle of water. We got extremely thirsty after the 1st hour. 2. Suggest that folks wear comfortable shoes because they'll be standing for 2 hours. 3. Tell folks that pedestrians have the right of way in DC, especially on sidewalks. 4. Offer an alternate route, not just the tourist route. I plan to go again, this time with a group of local friends. How about going down by the river near the Kennedy Center, for example? Maybe a certain tour-time could be more geared to local residents. | ||||||

| Riding the Segway is a unique way to see parts of DC and it was a lot of fun. We certainly attracted attention! We got to see the White House, the Capitol Building parts of the Smithsonian and other federal buildings but the tour doesn't include memorials or monuments due to limitations on where the Segways can be ridden. The tour guides were knowledgeable and very accomodating though sometimes I had hoped for more detail in their briefings. Riding the Segway was definitely a blast and made the tour quite enjoyable. Definitely worth the money. | ||||||

| French friends came to visit us in DC and decided that the best way to spend their 24 hours with us was via the Segway tour. They were right. The introductory session just before the tour did include a video which could be shown in French as well as other foreign languages. So even if your English is weak, you still get the very necessary information to learn how to operate the Segway safely (if you ask them to repeat this video in the other language). I was amazed at how easy it was to learn to use the machine. We had a very pleasant route through the the Mall area, and it was a lot of fun. A note on the after-effects on your legs: Because you spend the whole time essentially standing and just shifting your weight between the balls and heels of your feet, it is in some ways more tiring than actually walking--not as much circulation for your legs as when you really walk. However, it really is fun to play with this different form of locomotion. People who love this tour should also consider the Bike-the-Sites tour on regular bicycles, especially in the evening. That tour passes by all the various monuments (Jefferson, Lincoln, Vietnam Memorial, etc) on the west side of the Mall, whereas the Segway tour concentrates more on east side of the Mall showing where the main Smithsonian museums with interesting collections are, not to mention passing by the White House and Ford Theater. | ||||||

| My husband planned this tour as a surprise for me. At first I was hesitant about riding on a segway. However, the staff were so helpful and friendly they quickly put me at ease. Plenty of practice time was given and two staff accompanied our small group on the tour. Riding on the segway was easy and fun as well as a great way to see the city. We have been on bike tours of cities before but this was a much easier ride and more fun. We were able to see all the highlights of Washington DC without any walking. The guides were also very laid back, knowledgable and helpful. I would hightly recommend this tour for all ages. | ||||||
