Capital Segway

It was an amazing experience. We had a great time. Now we want to tour every city this way.

I am a long-time resident of the DC area and was looking for a way to experience Segways with my adult kids (also residents of the area) . The tour was really really fun, the guides knowledgeable without being condescending; we learned facts we didn't already know about DC, and gained a new appreciation for the layout of the mall. I would go again tomorrow, or anytime...it was money well spent and a lot of fun. If you're going to try a Segway tour, DC is a great place to do it, especially if the weather is nice.

My husband and I went to DC for our 9-year anniversary and did this the first day of our vacation. Totally awesome. We liked it so much that we considered doing it the next day, but the weather did not co-operate. Our guides were funny and the segway was so much fun. What a great way to see all of the monuments in two hours. You can really cover a lot of ground. And when else will you get the chance to ride a segway? LOVED it.

My wife and I were in the city for the weekend, and decided to give it a try. It was easy, fun, and a great time. The tour itself took us to sights we wanted to see and our guide made it seem effortless. We certainly recommend seeing Washington via Segway.

Austin, our tour guide, was fun, energetic and knowledgeable. There were only 3 in our group, so we had personalized attention.We did the six o'clock, 2 hour tour, which worked out great for our group because we were in D.C. for a class during the day. Not too many activities operate in the evenings in D.C., so this was the perfect fit for us. It's a great way to see the main sights of D.C in a short period of time and have fun doing it. It was our first Segway tour and we would not hesitiate to recommend it or to do it again.

We felt very comfortable on the Segway after a short class. This is a wonderful way to experience Washington DC.

We did this with our adult children. Our guide was fun and knowledgable with facts about DC. This was a great way to see a lot of DC in a short amount of time and was a great introductory tour to the area. Now we know what we would like to visit in more detail. The segways posed enough of a challenge for the young adults yet not too challenging for we older adults, so it was a well balanced activity to do together. We will not hesitate to look for other segway tours in other cities.

Absolutely the best way to see the city. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone coming to Washington for the first time or even for a repeat visitor- we come to Washington every year and this year the segway tour was a huge highlight. Thanks!

Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) did the 2 hour tour that was late in the afternoon. Our tour guide Austin was GREAT! Lots of information, funny stories and, since we were the only ones in our group, he took us a bit off route to see some places of special interest. Highly recommend for first time visitors with limited time to see the city - you can cover a lot of ground and because the headphones allow you to keep moving while receiving information, you really can learn alot. The segways are intuitive and thus very easy to ride . Once again, a shout out to our guide Austin, who was awesome! (The funniest part of our tour was when a tourist (clearly an American) on foot stopped our guide Austin to ask where the Statute of Liberty was located. Sadly, I'm not making that up.)

Although our original tour was canceled by Capital Segway due to potential severe storms ( which never happened), the wait was worth it. Our party of 4 ranged in age from 16 to 56 and we all were able to master the segway in about 15 minutes. We had 4 others on our tour plus one tour guide who was very knowledgeable and gave us plenty of time for photos. You are able to cover so much more ground on a segway than by walking - we were able to see some sites we hadn't been able to fit in earlier in the week. Lots of fun!

This tour was clearly more about being on Segway's than touring DC, which we found a little dissappointing as we were really seeking a tour with a fun mode of transport. This was our first time on Segways and they were fun, but we would have enjoyed the trip more if we were not with several experienced riders so we always felt like we needed to try to catch up instead of going at our own pace. Also, this tour goes right up the center of Pennsylvania Avenue in the bike lanes in the middle of the street. Several members of our group found this to be scary and that led to some problems. Despite these problems this experience made our groups list of trip favorites.

The young man who was our guide was very nice and enjoyable. I would have liked a little more off beat information about DC and its history but overall good.

TOUR GUIDE WAS AWESOME! THE SEGWAY TUTORIAL PRIOR TO TOUR RELIEVED ALL FEARS OF RIDING ON A SEGWAY; GUIDE WAS INFORMATIVE AND MADE WHOLE EXPERIENCE ALOT OF FUN!
