This was (almost) the best experience we had in DC. Great commentary great weather and the freedom of the Segway was amazing. Totally recommended experience!

I had lived on and off in DC. My brother was visiting from abroad and I was trying to find a way for him to see as much as possible on the day we had in DC. We had already walked a lot and it was great fun to switch to the segway, zip up and down the Mall and around the White House. Neither of us had been on a segway before but we are big fans now and I will definitely try to do this again in another city. And we loved our guide!

I have been on 2 other segway tours and this one was the worst. I paid for two hours and only got 1 hour and 20 minutes. Our tour guide texted the entire time and wouldn't stop and the main attractions. I felt he was making up facts because I was more educated on DC than him. Nice guy, just felt as if he was more concerned about getting the tour over with. The owner was nice. I would recomend for the money to book with the Smithsonian Tour.

The tour was fantastic

2 members of our group did not pass the initial evaluation and were not allowed on the tour. We totally understood that the decision was made for safety reasons but were suprised and unprepared for it. We were given a full refund for both and with some adjustments everything worked out. For those of us who took the tour, we had a blast. Our guide Matt was very personable and knowledgeable. It was a great way to see DC for both new comers and seasoned DC vets a like. I would highly recommend this tour but have an alternate plan should you or someone in your group not qualify to take it.

Segway Ride in D.C.

The segway ride was a blast. At first I was a little concerned about being out in the traffic and the fact that I had never been on a segway. The training session was excellent and the little ride in the park before we hit the streets was very helpful. After about 10 minutes or so on the ride I was completely comfortable on my segway. Our tour guide was also excellent. I would definately recommend this activity.

I've been on 3 Segway tours and the folks at Capital Segway are very informed and good at keeping everyone safe and enjoying the tour. I'll be back to ride again.

The riding part was great. The information provided on the tour could have been more interesting. The jokes were fun.

Was really fun! All the segways worked just fine and the guides were very helpful. We got to see most of the sites. Only complaint I had was that the volumes on the earphones are a bit low, besides that it was a good time and I recommend it.

Segways are awesome, end of topic. The tour was great, and I learned some cool facts along the way. It was great to see all of the cool parts of DC without the tired legs. Our tour guide was really cool, easy-going, and informative and the Segways were top-notch. My parents (55) and I had a blast and would definitely do it again. I want a segway...

Excellent Segway experience; good tour experience

My two friends and I were new to Segways, but riding them soon seemed very intuitive and we loved them. It seems they were quite a good way to cover lots of ground, getting an outdoor overview of the National Mall on a good-weather day. The safety video beforehand was sort of confusing, but one of the Guides helped in putting it into perspective. Having a headset (actually a single earphone) was really useful rather than if we had had to stop and gather around the Guide to hear. The three of us were part of a group of maybe 15 people on the tour. If I fell to the back of the pack, the wireless communication was sometimes spotty, so I avoided the back and was OK. There were two guides, one in front who was doing the talking, and the other in back just to bring up the rear and make sure everyone was OK. Half way through, the two guides traded positions. The second-half front-guide was much more enthusiastic and (to me) interesting than the first one, who may have been doing this too long or maybe just had a not-so-great day, but at the end of the day we tipped them an amount to share. The tour was supposed to be 2 hours but we got a late start due to some of the group arriving late and then needing instruction/orientation; and the tour finished about 15 minutes early; so I'd say we only got about 1.5+ hours in, and about 15 minutes of that was practice-riding in an outdoor square. And another 10-15 minutes was stopped for a break for those who wanted to buy food/etc.. I would have liked to have the whole 2 hours, and to have had some more detail on the tour part of the experience -- but probably due to novelty, much of the experience & discussion were oriented toward the Segway riding. All in all my friends and I are very glad we did it, and we enjoyed & learned a whole lot about Segways and learned pretty much about DC.

We scheduled a few weeks before our arrival in DC...unfortunately, the day we were scheduled for was cold, windy and miserable. Rick started calling us to reschedule the day before and went out of his way to make sure we were able to fit the Segway Tour into our plans. My only complaint is that my husband's headphones only worked intermittently, so he wasn't able to hear all of the guides comments...but he still had a great time riding the Segway around DC.

My husband, my two adult children, and I wanted to experience Segway's and Washington DC and this was a great way to do both. Covered lots of tourist hot spots primarily on the Mall, and our tour guide shared other interesting facts along the way. The Segway's are easy to ride and make it easy to stop and take pictures along the way. Our tour guide, Matt, was helpful in teaching us how to ride the Segway's and very knowledgeable about DC. And he was a good photographer. Our whole family had a blast and we have already recommended the tour to others.
