Capital Segway

The Segway tour was a lot of fun. The design of the Segway is very good - after 5 minutes of practice, riding it was second nature. We covered a lot of ground in a couple hours. Riding up the middle of Pennsylvania Avenue on the bike path provided some very interesting views of the city. The tour guide was upbeat and interesting. If you wanted an in-depth historical lecture during the tour, this wouldn't satisfy you. But if you wanted to have a fun time outdoors with friends or family, see some interesting views of DC, and learn some interesting facts, this is perfect.

What a great time we had. The tour guide was awesome. He provided lot of information about each of the 25 stops we visited. I have recommended it to all the people I eork with and family.

My 16 year old son and I had a great time! Segways are very easy and fun to operate, and a great mode of transportation. Seeing the hot spots in DC from a Segway was an added plus, even though we have seen them many times before. Our guide, Nick, was great!

My family thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Capital Segway. We thought that a Segway tour would be (1) a more intimate experience of the city, with the ability to stop whenever we wanted to take a picture or soak in a view, as compared to a double-decker bus tour; and (2) a "cool" activity sure to please our teenager. We selected Capital Segway over the competitor for two reasons... they narrate the tour continuously through wireless headsets (the competitors require participants to stop and gather in a circle to hear the tour guide presentation; the headsets also allowed the guide to continuously guide us with driving instructions, with alerts about signals, minor road irregularities, etc. The second reason is that they offered an evening tour... we took the 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm tour so that the temperature in August was cooler, and the sidewalks dramatically less crowded from tourists. Our guides were funny without being obnoxious, and yet had very meaningful and interesting facts about buildings, monuments and museums that we passed. Overall, I give this company my highest recommendation, we will definitely tour with Capital Segway again, and I encourage you to book your tour without hesitation.

We wanted to do a Segway Tour in lieu of too much Walking around Washington DC, at least at first. We thought it would help orient ourselves to the sights... And it did! We learned a bit (can't say it was HUGELY intellectually-oriented or informative) -- I'd describe it mostly as fun! Got to zip around in the middle of Pennsylvania Avenue (they have center-of-road bike lanes), and since you're higher up on a Segway, you get a better view! Also, since it was quite hot out, the breeze from the Segway was most welcome! Our guide, Scott, was very kind, patient, witty, and charming. The commentary he provided via headsets while we were moving was very helpful and kept us entertained. This will not be heavily detailed information, but you will learn about the city and the buildings (not just 'fluff'), and have a great time while doing it! (Segways were easy to get the hang of - I was pretty tentative at first but became much more comfortable and adept as we went along.)

We had a group of 7 and our two guides absolutely made the tour fun and interesting. This is the best way to see the city. I would recommend this tour company. We took two other segway tours but Capital was by far the best!!

My husband and I took 3 20-somethings for the 2-hour segway tour on a Sunday afternoon in mid-August. It had just finished raining. PERFECT time to see DC, hardly any tourists, due to the rainy conditions. Tour guide was very intertesting and kept all of us, even our adult children engaged. The segways are very easy to navigate and the safety briefing and demonstration prior to the tour was short, effective and to the point. THanks!

It's a fun ride and in 2 hours you can get a great overview of DC.

Fun way to tour the city. Its not huge on detail but allows you to see the majority of the sites/monuments in a short period of time. And simply a blast to ride on the Segways. Very recommended as a FUN activity!

It was a wonderful experience to see many sights of Washington DC. We had really terrific and caring guides as we were 3 sisters a little nervous of the Segway. I loved rolling down the middle of Pennsylvania Ave. looking at all the buildings and when the guide pointed out the Newseum, we went that afternoon and loved it. I suggest the morning Segway tour as it was cool, and the tourist areas were not too crowded. Wished we could have been allowed on the Mall area to view the monuments.

Highly recommended! The tour group was a lot of fun and the guides were knowledgeable and cheerful. The full time was used which was great! The tour guides were accomadating and would take pictures when asked and would spend as much time as the group wanted at specific sites. It is a very enjoyable experience as well as a very convient way to see and learn a lot about DC without having to walk! Segway tours are the way to go!

the all experience was wonderful

I "ummed" and "ahhed" for a couple of days before plucking up courage to book a place on the Segway tour. It was the best decision of my Washington holiday and was the best 2 hours I spent. I absolutely loved every minute - it was so exciting and exhilerating, even though I was scared and wobbly to start with! Scott, the guide, was funny, encouraging, reassuring and very knowledgable about every aspect of Washington and its history, even brancing off into the Masonic tour information, as myself and the others with me were really interested in that too. Whizzing around the city was like being a celebrity, with people staring and pointing along the way - we all just smiled and waved! I would definitely recommend this to anyone and will be looking to do this again, somewhere, at the earliest opportunity. Thank you!

One of the best experiences I have ever had for sightseeing. Very natural and intuitive means of transportation. Our tour guide made the day. His in-depth knowledge of Washington history, made for a delightful morning. I totally enjoyed the ride! Wish I could afford to buy one of these!

This was an incredible way to see Washington DC. It was myself, wife and daughter. It was great to be able to get around to all the major sites and allowed an overview of the city to be able to develop a plan of attack for future sightseeing. I would recommend this tour to anybody.
