Capital Segway

This tour is wonderful! It gives you a fun, up close and personal tour of our nation's capital. I would suggest this tour first to anyone going to DC.

This is the first time my wife and I are in DC, and the first time we rode the Segway. We loved the experience. Washington DC is the perfect place for a Segway tour - large flat open space with sparse traffic. The equipment provided by Capital Segway is in tip-top condition - the Segways, the helmets and the headsets with crystal clear sound. We didn't try any other Segway tour companies, but we are completely satisfied with Capital Segway's tour. Justin and Andy were our tour guides and they were awesome. I don't know if the other tours provide headsets, but it does make a huge difference being able to hear everything the guide was saying even when we are on the move.

i thought that a segway would be difficult or unstable, but thats not the case at all.the tour was great, the sights where beautiful, and the segway was fast lol!

This is my second segway tour of D.C. My husband and I did it last year and we recently came back to D.C. with my grown son and his wife. My daughter and husband live in D.C. so all 6 of us did the tour. It is so much fun and the guides are both entertaining and informative. The ride was the perfect amount of time and I was surprised at how much of the city we were actually able to cover. I know a lot of people are worried about being able to handle the segway but I need to assure anybody who is thinking of doing this that the segway is INCREDIBLY easy to operate. It doesn't take long to get the hang of it, and maneuvering through obstacles and crowds was very easy. I wholeheartedly recommend this activity, not only as a great way to see the city, but as fun in and of itself.

The tourist angle aside, riding the segways was so much fun. The instructors did a great job beforehand letting us get a good feel for them before turning us loose on the streets of D.C. For those of you who may be apprehensive, the segways are incredibly easy to operate. They are very responsive to the operator's movements, and I never had the slightest feeling during the trip that I wasn't in control! The tour guides were humorous and fun and all in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I will definitely recommend it to anyone I know who plans to visit D.C. My only negative feedback is that it was too short. The whole trip was only about an hour and a half of actual riding time and I was expecting at least 2 so that was kind of a letdown. Otherwise, BRAVO!

If you've never been on a segway before, you should do this. It is a weather dependent event however, so don't go if it's raining or windy or cold. We loved it. And don't be afraid of the Segway, it's as easy as walking. Anyone can do it.

My friend and I both agreed that this was the very best part of our trip to DC. My friend had never been to DC before and this was a great way to see a lot of the most famous sites in a relatively short period of time. Just riding the Segway was such a treat, but in addition our guide was extremely entertaining. He did a great job of keeping us all together and having fun. I would recommend this to ANYONE and will be taking the tour again then next time we are in town. I cannot recommend this more highly.

I did not know what to expect and I was a little bit intimidated at the prospect of operating a Segway. It turned out to be a breeze. It was exhilarating floating among the capital buildings and monuments. It was the highlight of our trip.

You cannot believe the walking you have to do in D.C. This is away to see everything. Then decide what you want to do and go back and do it. This trip gives you such information and the sights and you are not tired at the end of the tour. If you have only one day in D.C. take this tour.

This was one of the most fun things I've ever done. While just the novelty of the Segway itself would have been good enough, the tour, which lasted about 2 hours was very informative and enjoyable. The tour guides we had where extremely friendly and the pace was set to those of us on the tour and not by the guides. All of the stops we made the guides made sure that anyone who wanted a photo got it and that we where ready to move on. in our group we had people ranging in age from 16 to 75 and everyone enjoyed it and had a grand old time. I highly recommend this tour and activity and our group will do it again when we come back to DC. SEE THE CITY TOUR by CAPITAL SEGWAY AA+++ AWESOME.

Went with myself and 16 year old boy. I loved the tour - he loved the Segway (i liked the Segway too - but he LOVED the segway). The tour guide (Noah) said he knew some of us were there to use the segway rather than hear the tour so he didn't mind if anyone just wanted to experiment by toodling around on their machine rather than stand quietly listening. -- NOTE: My feet had an unpleasant tingling sensation from using the machine and I noticed one other gentleman on the tour having the same problem. Most folks were fine. It didn't prevent me from finishing the tour - but I wouldn't want to own one. Then again, my son would be driving it all the time anyway, so I guess it wouldn't matter...

We knew we picked the best operator when we arrived at the US Capitol. The competitions group was there. They had cheesy helmets, no radio receivers (there leader was yelling to them) and I know they all put down a $500 deposit. We had 2 great guides and the instruction for us, as first time Segway riders, was just right. We would do it again! Phil and Kris from Tucson

I took my father, uncle, and brother as a gift for Father's Day. The response from my dad was that "he felt like a kid again". We had a great time, and I would recommend this is a family outing, date, or teambuilding corporate exercise. Our instructor, Kyle, was enthusiastic and patient.
