Great way to see the Mall and surrounding area

The Segway instruction was excellent and made the ride easy. It's a great way to cover a lot of ground relatively quickly. I had no problems with other pedestrians, the Segway is very maneuverable. Our guide was very good and knowledgeable. I would have liked a longer tour, the tour was informative and a lot of fun!

Had a 2 hour evening tour. Saw all the sights. Really enjoyed the ride and the tour. Was very fortunate that we got a private tour. Only the two of us. Strongly recommend.

I took my father, uncle, and brother as a gift for Father's Day. The response from my dad was that "he felt like a kid again". We had a great time, and I would recommend this is a family outing, date, or teambuilding corporate exercise. Our instructor, Kyle, was enthusiastic and patient.

It was great to see so many highlights of DC without having to walk the entire City, we even saw the Jefferson Memorial which is so out of the way. Will definitely do again for a full day!

Great experience from a very personable company

There was very bad weather on my scheduled day, bu the company manager halped me find a guide that would come in in the morning to take me on an unscheduled tour which turned out to be a great experience. I tipped Will (my tour guide from Capital Segway) generously and would recommend this to anyone who wants to see a lot in a short time and then have their bearings for some self guided excursions of their own. Great Experience! Great Company! Great City! Bryce S. Salt Lake City, Utah

We had a great time seeing DC on the Segway. After the initial concern about learning how to use the Segway, our minds were put at ease by our tour captain, Alex. He was very patient and made sure we were all comfortable on our Segways before leaving the store. Thanks for a great time! We will definately do this again with others that come to visit.

The Segway tour is a great way to get oriented to the city and have fun riding a segway. It is tough to learn a lot as you cannot hear the tour guide as you are 'segwaying' through. They should consider adding a microphone to the tour guide that allows him to talk to you from the front. Other than that the tour was great. We loved riding the segways and they were easy to use.

This was a great experience. We did the guided Segway tour of DC but will be back to rent the Segways and do our own tour.

I've wanted to ride a Segway since they were first introduced, so I was thrilled to find that one could tour DC on one! The folks at Capital Segway were very helpful and professional. Nice balance between traditional tour-guide information and just the general fun of zipping around on a Segway. If you're considering it, DO it. You'll be nervous for about 20 seconds; an hour later you'll be telling tourists what a great time you're having!

Hi - We decided to take the Segway Tour since our nephew was visiting from Tennessee. I was quite nervous because I wasn't sure I could ride the thing, but it was not a problem at all. My husband and nephew had a wonderful time, and we could hardly get my newphew (who is 16) off the Segway when we returned to I Street. Our guide was excellent and well informed. He was constantly on the alert for problems we might be having, or that might come at us from some of the strange people we met, especially outside the White House. Many people were simply curious about the Segway. I must say that I didn't pay enough attention to the tour itself because I was so focused on the ride.

The attraction sells.. the tour guides do not.

I thoroughly enjoyed being on the Segway and it is a GREAT way to see the city. Our tour guide (the red haired gentlemen) was very knowledgable about the city and things to see and do. A better script and doing a better way to present the information would have been better. The second gentlemen with us (shorts t shirts and flip flops...) knew little to nothing about buildings and did not point out key points of interests... I felt that there was a looseness and 'do what you want on the tour...' instead of really giving an indepth tour. I feel you could charge (a little) more if your appearance and demeanor in the streets was more professional and indepth in the tour. You are knowledgable about the Segways just feel you need work in presentation. The gentlen in the store dressed in a Segway gold shirt and pants looked professional. Our tour guides really did not. I feel I missed a lot of what Washington DC had to offer because nothing was really explained or shown ESPECIALLY on the way back from the Capital. Several people of our tour (one gentlemen in particular) seemed like they were more into the Segway and doing what they weren't supposed to do then taking a tour. This was a distraction at the times when explanations were being made of key sites. This was too bad and diminished the experience.

The sales staff was very friendly and the orientation was quick and easy. The tour itself was fun and covered alot of locations. Some tour information was interesting, but on the whole I was hoping it would be more informative. Still - you've got an excellent selling point....Segways are FUN!!

We had a great time. Alex was a good teacher and guide and stayed close with us to be sure we understood how to ride. The actual tour was a bit lame for us Washingtonians, and i really would have preferred a bit more of a broader ride, to G'town, Adams Morgan, zoo, etc. But great fun on the Segways. You need more types of tours.

Kills the feet but what an experience

I enjoyed the tour very much. However i would like to comment on a couple of things. I think it would be more beneficial if the office was in a location that was a little quieter, not off a busy road. Once we had established our training we then had to go on to a busy sidewalk and tackle crossing the road. I found this very unnerving. The other comment i would like to make is that whilst i enjoyed the tour i discovered later that we had not actually seen the majority of the places i would like to have seen. I understand that this was perhaps because we are not allowed to go into certain areas however i felt that really we were taken around a tour of the buildings of washington and not of the key areas (for me) such as Abraham Lincoln memorial, Rosevelt memorial, the reflecting pool, vietnam memorial etc. I think for the price of the tour we would have benefitted from having an hour extra to walk around these places if the segways are not allowed. Having said that, it was certainly an experience that I enjoyed thoroughly as i can impress everyone in england that i have been on a segway. Thanks Andrea

Miss this tour and leave a spot for us ... AGAIN!

Best time of our 10 day East coast vacation. Washington DC via Segway is the ONLY way to see it. We tried it both ways, walked our blisters off, and then did the evening Segway tour. It was so easy to master and our son now wants one for his own. Guide was well informed and just plain FUN. The scary part is the safety video before you first step on a Segway. No matter what you plan as a tourist in any city that offers Segway tours, make sure you get on the list and take a Segway tour, you will make memories that will last forever! Hi Ho Segway ... take IT away!
