Fort Lauderdale Sightseeing Cruises

This cruise was wonderful! It helped that weather-wise, it was a perfect day in Ft. Lauderdale; and it helped that the boat show was coming to town the next week. We probably got to see more yachts than usual because of the boat show, however there seemed to be plenty that live there in the river and waterway. The captain was entertaining and informative. I would recommend the cruise to tourists.

For the money, I was expecting the good running narrative (which we got) along with something to eat, which we did not get. Some decent popcorn was all that was included. The drinks were way too expensive. Overall, not the best value out there. We only paid what we did because, as far as getting a decent guided tour is concerned, the Water Taxi/Bus is hit-or-miss, depending on the skipper. At least this was as informative as I had hoped. I was led to believe there'd be more than just popcorn served as part of the deal, so on that score it was disappointing. So that's a positive for the tour and a negative for the refreshments = Neutral.

Carrie B Cruise is very interesting and should not be missed. While there is too much emphasis on real estate values, it is interesting and entertaining to hear who lives in which house, along with a bit of history.

The boat had seating inside and outside, the drinks were good, and the guide was knowledgeable. Most importantly, the sights were beautiful. I would definitely take this tour again!

The tour guide was very knowledgable and the tour delivered what it promised. Great way to see all the magnificent homes around the area.

The tour was great.

The boat tour was an okay way to spend a couple of hours. The ship pictured was not the ship we sailed on, so to sit on the upper deck, there was no shade. The tour of the "Venice of the South" was not nearly as extensive as I had hoped, due to the size (large) of the boat. I had thought more canals would be visited. Far too many references to Wayne Huizenga, previous owner of the Miami Dolphins and numerous properties on the tour. His name was mentioned as often as all other property owners combined. We began to wonder if he was the owner of the tour company. Many of the homes and yachts we saw were fascinating. Staff was pleasant. The captain/tourguide would be better served by a head-set microphone instead of a stationary one as his voice would fade in and out depending on where he was looking and some narration was lost. Not a bad way to spend a couple of hours, but nothing special.

We did the 0300pm cruise --there is air conditioning on the first level but you can go to the top for open air--they had a snack bar with popcorn, hot dogs, pretzels, sodas and some alcoholic beverages as well--staff were nice and friendly and the speaker was funny as well as informative
