A Perfect Sunday Afternoon
Sun, Jun 17, 12   1:00 PM Beachmom Female 70+ Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
I had taken the Carrie B tour several times in the past and thought it would be a nice way to spend an afternoon with my daughter who was visiting from New Jersey. Not only did she thoroughly enjoy the tour but even though I had taken it before, so did I. The hour and a half is just long enough, the announcer is fun, knowledgeable and not at all boring and the picture opportunities are amazing. We both agreed this will be a regular activity during her visits. Would recommend it to locals as well as tourists.

The Carrie B and her staff are top shelf. Our captain was very articulate and entertaining while providing running commentary on the beautiful mansions on "Millionaires Row" and historical information for the area. The length of the trip, 90 minutes, is just right to keep you entertained without being boring. When in the Lauderdale area, I would recommend that you put the Carrie B near the top of your list of things to do and see.

Decent, but I won't ride again...

I give Carrie B the highest mark for cleanliness. The boat was squeaky clean. There's a snack bar. Other than that, the tour was just blah. The tour guide must have been ill because he kept taking breaks. At one point, he even played the radio. There was NO announcement of 'thank you for touring with us, etc.". There was music, then the boat docked, and everyone just starting clearing out on their own. Also, not as many points of interest were announced. I had taken a different tour boat on a previous visit, and the announcer spoke the ENTIRE time. He never ran out of information to share; never took a 'break'; never flipped on the radio, AND he bid us farewell as we were docking. I wish I could recall the name of the boat so that I could recommend it to everyone. The Carrie B loads in a weird spot, on a sparse side street. Be sure that you know where you're going because it's rather easy to drive right by. The other tour I took is located in an outdoor mall area with restaurants, a movie theatre, and a public restroom-- a MUCH better area for visitors-- especially for visitors that rely on cabs or water taxis to get around. After getting docking off of the Carrie B, it took FOREVER to hail a cab. I did not feel comfortable walking along that side street. There's not much around there and you're well-hidden away from the main drag. If you are concerned about safety in an unfamiliar surrounding, I do not recommend the Carrie B because, again, it's on a side street; whereas the better boat tour that I'd recommend loads in an open area entertainment/office complex.

Great day on the water

The Carrie B provided an easy way for us to get onto the water without the hassles of parking at docks in some out of the way place. We pulled right up to a meter, dropped in a few bucks for a couple hours and walked right onto the boat. The crew was friendly, the boat was comfortable with good munchies and drinks. The river provides a unique view into how the ultra wealthy live in Ft. Lauderdale that you can't possible imagine by seeing their houses from the streets. Booking the trip through Zerve was easy. Customer service rep was very informed and helpful. We booked the trip just a few hours prior while we were eating breakfast. The entire trip, from booking to the end of the day was great. I highly recommend it. Gary

Had A Great Time!

My friends and I were looking for something outside of the norm to do in our local area for a birthday celebration. This tour provides incredible views of the most beautiful homes and yachts in the area. The weather was great and the location of the dock provides an opportunity for lunch and shopping in the general area as well. We all had a great time! :-)

Our group of 14 friends from around the country got together in Fort Lauderdale. This cruise was the perfect group activity - a great way to see the beautiful homes, yachts (& MEGA yachts!) and waterways. The boat was large and it had both under cover (shaded) and open deck areas. Drinks were good too! Everyone in our group enjoyed the tour - there was something for everyone. I would highly recommend it!

Vessel was very clean and staff very pleasant. Tour was very interesting and the narrative of history was great! Would highly recommend this 2 hour ride of the intercoastal to see homes and yachts that you would otherwise not see.

Great Post Cruise Excursion

Our family of five, plus one friend, had a great time on the Carrie B. We took a cab from the cruise terminal and were dropped off right across from the dock. We thoroughly enjoyed the excursion and it was a great way to wind down from the cruise while waiting for our afternoon flight at the airport. After the excursion, the staff of the Carrie B, arranged for a taxi to take us the short ride to Ft. Lauderdale Airport. We would definitely recommend this for people of all ages.
