A lot was included for the price. Our only regret was that there wasn't enough time alotted for the Market Place and Boones Plantation. We didn't have enough time to explore the slave cabins and the grounds.

Too rushed and kinda boring

I went on this trip with my senior parents and we all love history, but this trip was not nearly as good as I thought it would be. The horse drawn carriage through the streets of downtown Charleston was good. Our tour guide Jody was entertaining and very nice. We had to rush to get back to the bus because we only had 20 minutes to walk through the market and get back to the bus. Definitely not enough time. Then the boat ride with narrated tour was AWFUL. Boring.....snooze ville! Lunch was provided, but it was a box lunch with a sandwich, cookie, and tiny cup of fruit. Not very good. It was ok. Then got back on bus and went to a plantation house. We were late so we missed the tour through the house that we were supposed to be on so when a bunch from our bus tried to go to the next tour the tour guide (older lady) was VERY rude and didn't want to let us go through. Since she was peeved that a bunch of us went through she gave us a quick, sweet and short to the point tour. Like 5 minutes. The best part of the tour was our bus driver and the comedy video he played on the way back to the drop off location. Sad, but true. I would definitely not recommend this tour or pay that kind of money for it. Disappointing.

Each activity we went on was too long. There was very little time to shop at the markets. We went in one shop and purchased pralines and almost had to run to where the bus was parked. There was more walking than expected due to where the bus was required to park. The harbor boat tour was OK, it too was about 30 min. too long; We had to sit on the enclosed lower level and the cold drinks and snacks and the restrooms were on the upper deck. The box lunch was average. The last stop at the plantation was OK. You couldnot tour the house by yourself and the tours were set so you only had one choice. It is a lovely place and we enjoyed the gardens.

We had fun. Everyone was lovely to us and we learned so much and actually saw we had learned about in history books. The bus driver was also knowledgeable and friendly and kept up with all of us so we all arrived safely and got back on the bus before he drove off at every stop.

Tour for wedding anniversary

My husband and myself took the tour as part of our stay in Myrtle Beach and part of our 6th wedding anniversary. I enjoyed getting to ride the bus and not having to drive. We enjoyed the horse carriages again we did not have to drive. We enjoyed the boat ride too. All the rides were great and the history learned was unbelievable. My only complaint is that there was not enough time given between the horse drop off and us getting into the market. We were rushed do to lack of time to return to the bus for the next adventure. The tour as a whole needs to be 12 hours instead of 10 and 1/2. We were also short on time at the plantation. We did not get to see much of anything there. We were disappointed in that. My husband is huge on learning history and he was upset that we did not have time to see much of the plantation. It is a long tour already but if it was longer and we could enjoy the scenary and not feel rushed I would have enjoyed it more. Maybe it could start at 6am instead of 7am and go to 6pm or after.

A Great Addition to Our Vacation

All three of the activities: the carriage ride, boat tour, and visit to Boone Hall Plantation were very enjoyable. The only negatives about the experience were the lack of time to shop in the Market as promised and the fact that the tram was not operating at the plantation. Having someone else drive for the two hours to and from Myrtle Beach allowed us to relax and look at the sights with no worries about navigating Charleston and finding parking. Considering this, as well as all entrance fees and lunch provided on the boat, we felt that it was a good value.

Very enjoyable overview of Charlston

My husband and I booked this tour as we had never been to Charlston. We enjoyed every part of the trip from the comfortable bus trip from Myrtle Beach to the very interesting detailed facts shared on the carriage ride through the charming town. Lunch on the harbour boat ride was delicious! The boat ride gave us a good overview of the area. The plantation was very interesting and had beautiful grounds to enjoy! We would definitely return to this charming city for another enjoyable history lesson and take in the beauty once again. We would have enjoyed a little more time to brouse at the market. We found rushed. Charlston was definitely a high light of our trip to South Carolina. Thank you!

Carriage Ride and Boat Cruise a Must!

We were disappointed with the Plantation portion of the tour. There was confusion on the part of the Plantation workers which caused the tour to begin late and then the Plantation tour guide was very abrupt when she was asked questions, basically she said that she couldn't go into detail because the tour started late! We were also hoping to see more of the actual house on the tour and we only saw 3 rooms. The carriage tour guide and boat tour guide were both excellent - making those portions of the excusion memoriable.
