The carriage ride was the best part - a wonderfully knowledgeable and witty driver who entertained and taught us. We were disappointed that the Boone Planation home was not of the same time period as the rest of the buildings. Touring a 1930's home is not the same as touring an 1830's plantation. It would have helped if we had known this before hand. |

Overall, we LOVED this trip. The timing of the day was great. There was not a dead moment and I thought each stop was giving adaquate space in the tour. My only compliant was that we were one of the last people to board the Carolina Belle and consequently were unable to have decent seats for the boat ride. Other than this, we were extremely happy with our tour guide, the staff of Palmetto Carriages, and the staff at the Boone Plantation. We highly recommend!! |

I'm not one to take motorcoach tours, but after driving 11 hours to get to the Myrtle Beach area, I didn't want to drive the additional time it would take to get to Charleston. This seemed like a good alternative. I'm always skeptical about the price of tours such as this. The three excursions paid for individually would have added up to more than half the total price of the trip, so it was a good value. The carriage ride was great and our guide was extremely knowledgable, funny, and interesting. There wasn't much time for shopping in the City Market; we barely made it through one building before it was time to get back to the bus (but we managed to buy a few things!). The cruise was nice, but I wasn't pleased about the seating. I've never seen so many people crammed onto a cruise boat like that. Made it very difficult to try to eat the lunch that was provided, and there wasn't much moving around on the boat. The lunch gets an A+, though. It was fresh and tasty, nicely made, and more than I could eat. Boone Hall Plantation was interesting, but again, not enough time. They weren't quite ready for us and we had to wait about 10 or so minutes to get in, then there wasn't enough time to get the wagon ride through the plantation. Could have been planned a bit better by the participating venues. Our driver kept stressing that we had to be on time, and we always were, so a bit of our time was wasted. I guess it needs to be about two hours longer to allow the necessary time to do it right. |

My husband & I took this tour from Myrtle Beach. We had always wanted to tour Charleston, but did not really know where to begin. This tour gave us a good overview of the area & ideas for future trips that we may make on our own in the future. The guides were all friendly & knowledgeable. We had a wonderful time & met a lot of wonderful people. Would highly recommend for anyone not familiar with the area. Might not be a good fit for families with small children. |

Day trip to Charleston from Myrtle Beach was wonderful. Got great ride into town, tour of the city, shopping, tour by water, and finally a tour of a plantation. Got a taste of it all and I didn't have to drive myself, find parking, budget my time, pay individual entrance fees. All was done for me, including lunch.
Great Day!!! |

The Plantation - not really "all that" - my favorite part was the CARRIAGE RIDE - very informative and our guide, Al, was very funny and entertaining. He knew it ALL! |
