Enjoyed the carriage ride through historic Charleston, our tour guide was well informed making the trip enjoyable and educational, walk through the markets, an opportunity to look, smell and buy local wares, boat tour of the harbor and if you paid attention on the carriage ride you could win a token from the captian as he quizzed the passengers on Charleston trivia, and topped off with a tour and further education at the Boone Hall Plantation |

Bus driver was good and contrary to previous info I'd received, the bus is equipped with a tiny toilet. Additionally, the driver does make a pit stop en route. Important with an older clientele. Carriage ride in Charleston was interesting and the tour guide was excellent, but the fact that the carriages are covered often obstructs one's view and makes it almost impossible for anyone not seated towards the curb side to see much more than the bottom half of many of those awesome homes. I'd prefer a a guided walking tour which would not be as quaint and would cover less ground but would allow one to view the buildings in greater depth at a more leisurely pace. Many women would also be disappointed by the measly 15 minutes spent at the market. The cruise was very pleasant but a lot of info to absorb. The box lunch exceeded all expectations. The Boone Hall Plantation was hands down the highlight of the day. Magnificent grounds and mansion and a superb tour guide. The slave cabins were a not-to-be missed but sobering reminder of a past we should never forget. Could have spent hours there. All in all, very good value and recommended - but some room for improvement. |

Warning: This trip will make you want to spend more time in Charleston. Everyone is SO nice, helpful and informative. You have some time alone, to shop and do self guided tour at the plantation, but you could plop yourself in a chair at a coffee shop if you want to. The lunch was a nice box lunch. I just can't say enough good things! I felt like I was on a show for "The Travel Channel". Everyone is kind. Everyone is knowledgeable. Everything is run on schedule. It is a top notch tour! |

Our favorite part of the trip was the tour of Old Town. Out tour guide was terrific...very well informed and enthusiastic. I wish I could remember her name, but her horse was BILL and by the end of the trip we were all fond of Bill! I would have enjoyed a longer visit to the market area... |

It was a well organized and timed tour. The only thing I would change is shopping time at the flea market. We would have liked more time to shop around and check the wares that they displayed for us. |

We enjoyed the day very much. It was nicely paced with lunch provided on the harbor ride. Each of the narrator/ guides was well informed and fun to listen to. The three venues were well selected to represent Charleston's and South Carolina's history as a secessionist state and orient us to Chareleston geography. We would not have thought to visit the Boone plantation on our own and appreciated the insights about slavery that the exhibits, especially the slave cabins, provided.
Our bus driver was good natured and friendly. He was skilled in presenting directions and meeting times and information we would need without extraneous detail. Quiet for rest on the way down worked well. I think everyone enjoyed the Dean Martin video clips on the way back. |

We enjoyed the trip for the most part. The boat ride was unnecessary since most of the info was provided on the carriage ride. I would have rathered spent time going through the market (we only had 10 mins at most) and eating lunch at a local establishment. |
