Well rounded tour

A little bit of everything. IMy husband and I were a bit uncomfortable with the fact that our horse carriage only had ONE horse pulling it - a full load with pretty hefty passengers. The guide reassured us that the animals are well taken care of, but one horse? Carriages by other Co. had two horses. Our guide was fun and informative...

My 10 yr old daughter and I had an amazing time on our trip to Charleston. Everything was arranged, the bus was comfortable and our driver/host was very friendly and cheerful! He provided us with background on myrtle beach as we started our trip. Our tour guide for the carriage tour was hilarious and knowledgeable, the harbour tour was great and lunch was delicious. The plantation stop was also lovely! The only downside was not being able to take pictures inside the plantation home, but that was the owners policy, and had nothing to do with the tour. If I came back down, I would definitely take a tour through Zerve again and would recomment it to anyone!

Disappointed

Did not enjoy the horse and carriage ride. Had to sit in the front seats and the horse went to the bathroom in the first five minutes of the tour. Then, proceeded to wave his tail because he was bothered by a horse fly...flinging feces onto my leg. Also, marketplace prices at Charleston were ridiculous. Apparently, these people are unaware of the economic hardships at this time.

Myself and two adult children attended the tour to Charleston from Myrtle Beach area. We were thoroughly satisfied with all aspects of the tour. The bus driver - to and from Myrtle Beach - was punctual, was very informative, very friendly and took good care of us. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

Informative and Fun Tour

We only had time for a one day tour of Charleston and found this bus tour to fit our needs very well. The historic tour of Charleston by horse and buggy was very informative and fun. The guide was very friendly and had a great personality. The boat tour was informative as well as the horse and buggy ride and the box lunch was very good. We would have liked to have had more time at the open air market but understood how we had to squeeze a lot of activities into a small amount of time. We enjoyed the Boone Plantation tour and wished we had more time to spend looking around the grounds. We enjoyed all of the tours and thought it was well organized and offered a good selection of things to do in a day in Charleston. We would highly recommend this tour as a way of seeing Charleston for the first time.

Good but flawed

Bus driver was good and contrary to previous info I'd received, the bus is equipped with a tiny toilet. Additionally, the driver does make a pit stop en route. Important with an older clientele. Carriage ride in Charleston was interesting and the tour guide was excellent, but the fact that the carriages are covered often obstructs one's view and makes it almost impossible for anyone not seated towards the curb side to see much more than the bottom half of many of those awesome homes. I'd prefer a a guided walking tour which would not be as quaint and would cover less ground but would allow one to view the buildings in greater depth at a more leisurely pace. Many women would also be disappointed by the measly 15 minutes spent at the market. The cruise was very pleasant but a lot of info to absorb. The box lunch exceeded all expectations. The Boone Hall Plantation was hands down the highlight of the day. Magnificent grounds and mansion and a superb tour guide. The slave cabins were a not-to-be missed but sobering reminder of a past we should never forget. Could have spent hours there. All in all, very good value and recommended - but some room for improvement.

Taste of Charleston

Warning: This trip will make you want to spend more time in Charleston. Everyone is SO nice, helpful and informative. You have some time alone, to shop and do self guided tour at the plantation, but you could plop yourself in a chair at a coffee shop if you want to. The lunch was a nice box lunch. I just can't say enough good things! I felt like I was on a show for "The Travel Channel". Everyone is kind. Everyone is knowledgeable. Everything is run on schedule. It is a top notch tour!

A pleasant, relaxing day

We enjoyed the day very much. It was nicely paced with lunch provided on the harbor ride. Each of the narrator/ guides was well informed and fun to listen to. The three venues were well selected to represent Charleston's and South Carolina's history as a secessionist state and orient us to Chareleston geography. We would not have thought to visit the Boone plantation on our own and appreciated the insights about slavery that the exhibits, especially the slave cabins, provided. Our bus driver was good natured and friendly. He was skilled in presenting directions and meeting times and information we would need without extraneous detail. Quiet for rest on the way down worked well. I think everyone enjoyed the Dean Martin video clips on the way back.

We enjoyed the Carriage ride in Charleston. The Harbor Cruise had an unexpected surprise..... Dolphins playing around the dock and the boat. The lunch provided was very tasty. The plantation was interesting. The bus driver was very kind. Highly recommended. Thank you from Texas
