Charleston day tour from Myrtle Beach
Wed, Mar 26, 08   7:15 AM faceyl Male 50-59 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Bus was punctual and comfortable. Carriage ride was a very good orientation to the city. The harbour tour was a good combination of military and city history. The Boone Hall Plantation visit seemed the least organized but the house tour was good then you were on your own until the bus left. Not enough time for all the activities.

Your driver was someone we all disliked.

There were over 50% of the passengers who were not sure just where the bus was going to be when we were to depart the tour in downtown Charlestown. In fact he was not were he had told us he would be. One member of the group didn't make it to the bus and was left behind untill after the boat trip. The man never talked. He had a very blank affect. He needs to be replaced.

Excellent Trip!

We really enjoyed our trip to Charleston. The Bus Driver was Outstanding and very polite. The Carriage ride was delightful, the market was neat and the Boat Tour was excellent. The box lunch was also very good and fresh! The Plantation tour was not really a "plantation tour" since the house was only presented as it is today. We would have greatly preferred a historic plantation tour and history. Overall, we would recommend this trip and the price was very reasonable.

Worth it

Considering what was involved, a bus trip, a carriage tour of old Charleston, a boat tour of Charleston harbor and a plantation tour the experience was certainly worth the price. The plantation was a little disappointing, having been built in 1938, but outside of that, the remainder was of interest. The guides were knowledgeable. The lunch provided was better than expected both in terms of quantity and quality.

Best part of our Myrtle Beach vacation

Every aspect of the tour was exactly as described in the brochure. Our favorite part was the horse carriage ride through Charleston. The whole tour was great and we will definitely do it again. The price was very reasonable, the bus driver was on time and very informative. We could go on and on because we had such a wonderful time. Thanks Charleston Adventures!!!!

Disliked tour

Our tour bus broke down and we had to wait 40 minutes for replacement. At that point we knew our day would be shorter. The company did not ask if anyone would like a refund? They assumed we'd wait for the new bus knowing our day would be shorter. The plantation stop was 45 minutes. Tell me, can you tour a plantation and shoot photos in 45 minutes? Felt VERY rushed. The boat tour was ok. The carriage tour was the highlight of the day with a very well educated narrator/guide. We never got to shop at the market in Charleston as promised not only in my itinerary but also the brochure. Very disappointed in this Tour Co. Never will use again or recommend. Thorough Synopsis of Charleston

Wonderful way to see Charleston for the price and without the trouble of driving yourself. The driver is very knowledgeable about the sites and gives interesting tidbits of information. Allows time for rest stops to and from Charleston. The food was very good on the harbour boat ride, Thoroughly enjoyed the whole day and would go on another one again.

Great! Even with the rain

The tour was very organized; the driver (although not the regular one) was very accomodating, clear with his instructions, and knowledgeable. There was no dead time while we waited for connections to the next activity. For my first time to Charleston this was the way to go. I have a second home in N. Myrtle Beach and am in the area a great deal. Would definitely recommend to others.

The trip was well planned and I would definitely recommend it. However, on e problem was the temperature on the bus for the ride home. It was almost unbearable.

NICE TOUR-INTERESTING-VERY HOT
Tue, Aug 7, 07   7:15 AM CHICAMUXEN Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
This was a nice tour. It would have been more enjoyable if it had not of been so hot. We went in August so that probably played a factor. At first my kids (19 & 13) thought the tour was just going to be "old people"...but there was a mixed age group that attended. The group was small (32) and it was quaint. The bus trip to our first stop was not bad, except when we stopped for a short break (15 min), it turned into 30 minutes and we ended up being a little late for the first part of the tour. When people take a trip like this they should be mindful that they are not the only ones on the trip. The Boone Plantation tour was nice, but short. We saw two three rooms, and then were free to walk around outside....again very hot! The admission price just for the plantation was $17.50 which to me was a little steep for what you actually got. The Harbor boat ride was okay, but because it was so hot we were not able to totally enjoy it. We sat in the air conditioned part of the boat which kinda took away from the whole thing. The best part for all of us was the carriage ride through historic Charleston. We thoroughly enjoyed the ride and the tour guide. Eventhough it was extremely hot, we had a good time. The shopping in the market area was nice. We saw a lot of interesting items. Overall it was a good trip.
