Great overview of a beautiful Southern City
Wed, Nov 4  7:15 AM zuska1947 Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
My husband and I were vacationing for a week in Myrtle Beach and were interested in seeing the surrounding area. The Charleston day-long bus tour provided exactly what we were looking for! The bus was clean, the driver courteous and helpful. The carriage ride/tour was very informative as was the boat ride. Both provided us with an overview of the history of "old" Charleston and brought us up to speed as far as "today's" Charleston is concerned. The walk thru the old market was fun - we could have used a little more time to shop, tho. The box lunch on the boat was excellent and hit the spot! The Boone Plantation tour was a great way to end our cultural day! The bus, carriage and boat tours were on-time and since we had a small group, we proceeded from one activity to the other without missing a beat. The trip contained the perfect balance of sitting, walking and learning. All tourguides were well-informed and answered all questions with enthusiasm (even tho they probably answered the same or similar questions 100 times before). I would heartily recommend this tour to anyone traveling to the Myrtle Beach area.

The trip was well planned and I would definitely recommend it. However, on e problem was the temperature on the bus for the ride home. It was almost unbearable.

very nice day trip

The bus driver was very pleasant. The day was a little cold but it did not effect the events. We enjoyed the carriage ride & tour of the city & shopping in the market. The boat ride was very informative & lunch was good. The plantation was very nice but I wish we had time to take the wagon tour around the plantation besides touring the house. We had taken the tour many years ago and will go again. It is much nicer leaving from one location rather than stopping at each hotel as was done in the past. We have tried touring the city on our own and found your services much less stressful than driving ourselves. Thank you for an enjoyable day.

We enjoyed both the carriage ride and the harbor tour. The guides were fascinating and gave very interesting facts and details about the area. We would recommend the tour to others in the area as a great addition to their vacation. One problem associated with the tour is that if you are staying in Myrtle Beach many times you do not have access to a computer or a printer to print out the e ticket which was not needed when we arrived at the bus for the tour. Should be able to send confirmation by text message to phones.

Enjoyed the carriage ride, only complaint is it went too quickly!! Trip onboard the boat was very enjoyable even in the cold. Boone plantation was somewhat of a disappointment in the fact you are unable to view the entire house, but the grounds were lovely. We did not take the tour of the farm itself. All in all it was a very enjoyable day and would book a tour with your group again.

I enjoyed the horse and buggy tour and found my driver very informative. We did not have enough time in the town of Charleston. We had to basically run through the market, and never got to walk around the town. The boat ride was fine. The lunch was good. I did not enjoy the plantation. We got to see 3 rooms in the mansion and that was basically it. We walked around and visited the butterfly part. We bought a drink and just wasted time. I say, nix the plantation and let people spend more time in Charleston. It is a beautiful city and we did not get enough time there.

Southern Hospitality

We took this tour to get an oversight of what Charleston was all about on a limited amount of time. I am happy to tell you, we have already made plans to come back next year to tour Charleston extensively. Our tour began with a carriage ride, with a very knowledgable and funny tour guide. We were shown a taste of what Charleston has to offer. it was beautiful. We were allowed a short amount of time at the flea market, which we made the best of. We were then taken to the dock and we were off on our harbor tour. The captain and the crew were very helpful. We were given a box lunch that was quite a surprise. There is alot of history to Charleston that, being from NY, I was not aware of. The third leg of our tour brought us to Drayton Hall, which although it was beautiful, was a little dissapointing to me. The dissapointment arose from the fact that the main house was built in 1930 and there were no pictures of what the original house looked like. The oak arch was beautiful. Our bus driver, Gary Williams, was very personable and accomodating to all on the bus. He even entertained us on the ride home with DVD's he had brought along. The whole experience was very satisfying and I would recommend it highly to anyone who has a short amount of time.

I was traveling with my older parents. We were staying in N. Myrtle Beach and had identified a few things we wanted to do in Charleston. We stumbled across your tour opportunity on the Internet and it really suited our needs. It included our planned activities plus and we really appreciated the opportunity to have someone else do the driving. We enjoyed the activities and felt the time allocated for each was just right. The bus driver was a joy and you could tell he really enjoyed his job. The only thing that was challenging - my mom has asthma and the plantation house had mold so she struggled a bit there, but otherwise, all 3 of us enjoyed the day and the activities. We felt the price was fair and were glad we chose to use your tour opportunity as our means to visit Charleston. Thank you!

When we read about the trip, we read it would leave at 7:15AM and return at 6:30PM. We did leave at 7:15AM but was back by 5:15PM. I would have liked more walking time in Charlestown and at the plantation. We felt a little shorted. The trip even the shortened version was very good.

This trip was a great way to fit some time into a beach vacation for history on the area. When we travel we always try to learn something! This package was fun and educational. Our bus driver, Dave, was a great guide on trip from Myrtle Beach and was very informative. We enjoyed his commentary and information.
