My husband and I had a great time on the tour. We learned a lot of Chicago history and enjoyed some yummy food along the way! Our tour guide, Tad, was a wealth of knowledge and very easy to talk to. We highly recommend you take this tour early in your visit to Chicago so you can check out all the shops & restaurants Chicago Food Planet recommends. |

My husband had been on this tour before with a group of teachers and had said to me, "I've never been more sure of anything than I am sure that you will love this tour." He was right!!!! It was fantastic. When Emily, our tour guide, asked us at the end of the day what I had liked the best. I said the delicious chocolate that I was eating at the time. That was true because the "best" the thing was whatever we were doing at the moment! It was all fabulous and I couldn't pick one thing over another. The walk was amazing. You see Chicago as you never see it when you are traveling by taxi or bus from one destination to another. We were lucky enough to even have one of the hospitable owners of an historic house we were walking by, talk to us about her home and the neighborhood.
Emily was a great guide! We found out she was fairly new to the job but you would have never known it. She did a wonderful job!
I am requesting this as my Mother's Day gift from now on. I don't think I could ever grow tired of reliving this experience.
Thank you so much!

The tour was lots of fun. It was great to get away from the more touristy areas and see (and taste) another part of Chicago. |

The food tour is definitely well worth the price. No only do you get a chance to taste great food, but a cultural tour is included! |

we didn't have of time to see every thing in chicago, so that tour came as the best thing to see alot in the city in a very short time, the tour was great, we wouldn't pay attention for most of those details if we were walking by it. but once they tell you about you really enjoy every minute of that trip. food was not much, we expected to eat more since they tell you that you going to taste a lot so we didn't eat breakfast that day, but if i would go again, i'll have breakfast at the morning.
the best activity was the pizza place, it's amazing but we realized after the trip was over that the best part was the walking by all these nice places.
to enjoy it the most, we recommend to go on the tour on you first day there and after that go all over the city by your selves so you can stop by those places and enjoy the city the most.
over all it's a five star activity if you don't expect to eat a lot |

My husband and I really enjoyed this tour. We are both unfamiliar with Chicago but felt that this tour helped us get our bearings. We also figured out where to get a great meal and where the good shopping is. This tour introduced us to neighborhoods we otherwise wouldn't have seen. Our tour guides (one was in training) were great! They were willing and able to answer just about every question we asked them. For what we got, this tour was an absolute bargain. |

If you've done the Greenwich Village food tour in NYC, you might be disappointed in this Chicago version as the food isn't nearly as good nor as plentiful. Nevertheless, I found the Chicago tour interesting and a good way to become familiar with some of it's neighborhoods. |

The tour guide (yeah, Nikki!) had a great personality and made the tour fun. It was a small group, so we had lots to eat. I retraced our path and made some great purchases. The stores were happy to ship for me, since I was traveling by air. I wore a comfortable pair of shoes and still ended up with a blister. Another lady on the tour stopped and purchased shoes before she returned to her hotel. WEAR THE MOST COMFORTABLE SHOES YOU OWN!! |

We heard about this from a friend and we started reading the reviews online. We read positive and negative reviews, but overall we were intrigued by the "Taste of Chicago" and decided to go ahead and book the tour. We met at the starting location and were met by Nikki our tour guide. We were so excited because all of the reviews that we read about Nikki were wonderful. The tour took us through 3 neighborhoods, all unique in their own way. We tasted several different kinds of foods, all were great. Surprising enough, the olive oil and vinegar tasting was our favorite! Along the way Nikki told us interesting facts about the food, buildings, and neighborhoods along the tour route. It was so interesting to learn about the city in this way. We HIGHLY recommend that you do this tour early in your visit to Chicago, that way you can go back to the neighborhoods and stores. This tour really helped us to feel comfortable in the city. We do warn that this tour is a lot of walking, but it is at a slow even pace, totally manageable. We were tired at the end, but not so much that it left a negative impact on us, we even went to the Sears Tower after the tour. We read in the reviews that you are hungry after the tour, we did not experience this in the least, we were very satisfied! Go on this tour and have fun, we did!! And try to get Nikki as your tour guide, she's the best. We do recommend checking the weather forecast before you book the tour, we did this and the day we picked was absolutely beautiful, the best of the week. |
