I thought this was a nice variation from your typical walking tours and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in seeing Chicago by foot (but only in great weather). It's also a good way to see the local restaurants even if they weren't directly involved with the tour.
My only suggestions would be to have a smaller group and have more food tastings. There are only 8 tastings, 2 of them I don't necessarily consider food. They were the spice and vinger / oil tastings. While they were both an interesting and delicious experience, I thought perhaps having the condiments served with food rather than by itself would be a better experience. Also I would like to see one chocolate tasting rather than two.
Also, I would suggest anyone to eat a meal prior to going. Although the website says people are generally full from the food tasting, the "real" food didn't happen until towards the end of the tour. My girlfriend and I had only a small breakfast thinking that we would leave room for the food tasting, but we found ourselves really hungry from all the walking. By the time the real food came (one slice of pizza), we were both already having hunger cramps.
That said, I still had a good time. I learned a few things about Chicago and I got to taste some delicious food at the same time. Just needs more of it. |

The tour was exceptional in its choice of local and unique stopes: the best Chicago piza (stuffed), a local fudge shop (to die for) a spice shop, an oil and vinegar shop (for you chefs). Our guide was very enthusiastic and fun and informed. I would highly recommend this walking tour for Chicago. |

A short summary of the food tour: The tour lasted approximately three and a half hours and we walked over two miles. The guide Emily was excellent and provided information about the areas visited. The food you receive is: a potatoe pancake, a glass of iced tea, several pieces of chocolate, a couple pieces of cheese, and a piece of pizza. The tour also ends quite a way from where it started which requires another half hour getting back. After visiting Chicago many times my advice would be to rent a bike and have a really nice upscale lunch. You would still have money left over for shopping. I did not feel the tour was worth the price charged. |

Emily, our tour guide, was awesome - very knowledgeable of the neighborhoods we walked through as well as the places we did the tastings. Loved it! Highly recommend! |

I enjoyed visiting the Chicago Neighborhoods and learning a little about the history of each. It was great getting away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown.
Would like to have a few more eateries to go to - maybe 10-12 instead of 8 - and add some variety - such as Vietnamese, Spanish, Mediterranean. And I was surprised that we didn't have a Chicago hotdog! |

My friend (a local) and I (a visitor) had a wonderful time on the tour. The weather was perfect, all of the food stops were delicious, and our guide (Nicky) was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I would highly recommend this tour to both out of town visitors and Chicago locals.
I also appreciated the coupons in the handout. After the tour, I went back to several of these business and bought gifts to take home to my family. |

My husband, daughter (26yo) and I were in Chicago for the two of them to attend separate conferences. As the Mom, I wanted to find an activity we could do and enjoy together. I found it in this tour! Both of them told me, after the fact, that they were skeptical about doing the tour, but afterward I got "high fives" and "good choice, Mom" from them.
We visited unique stores and saw neighborhoods of Chicago which we probably never would have visited except for this tour. Our tour guide, Nickie, was enthusiastic and informative. She had interesting facts to share about the shops, houses and neighborhoods we visited.
The tour was well worth the money, the time was surely well spent and the food samples were delicious! |

It was a great tour with a variety of things to taste, see, try. I will definitely recommend it to friends. I like how architecture was part of the tour as well. |
