| My wife and I, who are not from Chicago, decided to take this tour with my sister-in-law and her boyfriend to try something new. My sister-in-law and boyfriend live in downtown Chicago so we were afraid they might be bored. From the very beginning the tour was very professional yet relaxed. The guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the food, drink, local culture and architecture.
After about 30 mins my sister-in-law and boyfriend were commenting on how much they had learned even though they had been to a few of the restaurant stops.
I would recommend this tour to anyone. The walking pace was comfortable and the guide would check every now and then just to make sure.
This tour is great and you don't have to worry about getting enough food because you eat a little here and a little there from start to finish.
At the end of the tour we were told that a new tour is starting in a different area of Chicago and we are all already planning on taking that tour as well.
Great tour, definitely do it |

| Our group greatly enjoyed this tour. You won't get insanely full, but you will try many different types of "food". I use the term food loosely though, as teas, spices, vinegar, oils, and chocolate tastings are also part of the tour. I don't consider this food, but more as condiments/flavorings/dessert. There was a great deep dish pizza tasting at the end though. However, don't let this discourage you. The spices are great, the chocolate delicious, and the oils have so much variety, you'll leaving wanting to buy everything! This tour is also a neighborhood history lesson and our guide was very friendly, upbeat, and informative. We will definitly try out the other tours they offer. Good job! |

| If you like to eat or cook, this is more than just worth the time. I realized quickly that this was more than just some great food and exercise. What a wonderful time we had as we were lead through the small neighborhoods North of the river. Every stop provided us with tastes I believe only available in Chicago. Our guide Emily was terrific not only in keeping our group together, but keeping us listening with information about the people and places we were passing by. Each stop was ready for the group and had samples of there wonderful specialties. And it was a lot more than just food. Teas, spices, oils, and vinegars (Yes, vinegar can taste wonderful. Who knew?) were sandwiched in between the deli, candy shops, and a pizza parlor. The only difficult part of the tour was trying to figure out which tasting you liked best. Although shopping was prohibited during the tour, we took advantage of our coupons. Retracing our steps at the tours end, we purchased from every place except the candy, which we got plenty of on the tour. It's pretty obvious that some of the places visited were the best in there trade worldwide. It was without a doubt the best pizza I've ever had. You'll have to take my word for it, as I've had pizza from all over the world, to include Italy. I'll be having it shipped to Delaware on occasion. The Spice Shop is a frequent supplier to the chef's on the food network. In fact, there was on of their Chef's there that evening signing her new book (Got mine!). I will be a customer to them and Old Towne Oil for years to come. Not only would I recommend this tour to anyone (even if you're from the area), but wouldn't hesitate to do it again on my next visit to the Second City. Thanks again, Emily. |

| The guide was wonderful and it was interesting to see the different neighborhoods. I was disappointed that the pizza stop only had spinach pizza since I do not eat spinach. It would it have been helpful if the guide asked in the beginning if anyone would prefer plain pizza and then call ahead to make it happen. The pizza restaurant did not even have slices of plain pizza available. |

| This activity is a must do for Chicago visitors as it's a great way to see parts of the city outside of the downtown core and experience a sampling of food from local venders. The guide was very knowledgable about the food offers and city culture. Highly recommend. |

| Our tour yesterday exceeded our expectations. It was very well organized and the 8 stops we made were varied and the information provided by our guide, Emily, and the merchants was interesting. No shortcuts were taken and the tour which was scheduled to last 3-3 1/2 hours lasted closer to 4 hours because the people in our group were comfortable asking Emily questions that she thoughtfully answered. Emily was also excellent as she was personable, knowledgable, engaging, and extremely entusiastic. Even though my wife and I have lived in Chicago for over 50 years, we learned many things on this tour and went to several intersting places that we had never been before. We enjoyed this tour so much that we are planning on going on the Wicker Park tour in the near future. |
