Our guide, Jennifer, was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable not only about the food tastings, but the neighborhoods as well. It was a most enjoyable way to spend a few hours in Chicago and I would highly reccommend it to anyone.

It was great to walk around the Gold Coast and Lincoln Park neighborhoods, which I might not have otherwise done. I enjoyed looking at the architecture and learning a little bit of the history of the area. Kate seemed a knowledgeable guide and the shops were interesting, especially the oil shop. The chocolate shop with the toffee was good too, but I could have eaten more! I think there needs to be more food tastings however. The Catering Shop was a bit of a disappointment with just humus and Gouda cheese cubes - something different would have been good. All in all it's worth your time and you'll learn some new things.

We got to visit a lot of 'hidden gems' in neighborhoods that I would have otherwised missed... there is a little bit of everything on the tour - some history, backstory of the neighborhoods / buildings, and of course - learning about / tasting the various foods, oils, spices - everything was so good! It was a really great morning and one of my favorite parts of my trip. As the other reviews said, try to do this tour early on in your trip as there is a good chance, you will want to visit the neighborhoods / restaurants / shops again.... :)

Nikki was an awesome tour guide and made everyone feel welcome and involved during the tour. Barb had to be the best tour member, but everyone was fun leading to a wonderful afternoon of tasting and learning. Loved every minute of it!

What a fun tour! I'd recommend it to anyone, foodie and non-foodie alike. The tour guide (Jen) was super. The hosts at each of the establishments we visited were great, very knowledgeable and personable. Next time I'm in Chicago, I'll probably take the Buck Town/Wicker Park Tour.

I am very glad I chose to spend a few hours of my time in Chicago on a food tour. It widened the scope of places I would have come across on my own, and was coupled with great historical and informational facts on food, sites, and Chicago in general.

Wonderful tour. I really enjoyed it, but the tour is very fast walking. Really to fast to enjoy the tour as much as I would have liked. Your walking so fast that you have to pay attention to the ground as not to trip and fall. I would enjoy a tour that was not as long and would allow you to shop as you go along. This tour IS NOT for all fitness levels!!!!!! as the advertisment states. You better be in top shape and have a High fitness level. We had one person drop out of the tour because they could not keep up. The shops we visited were wonderful and our tour guide was great! Would I take another tour? Only if they had a slower more relaxed tour. The long distance was not the problem, it was the extreme fast walking.

I really enjoyed the tour even though we were stuck with a rainy day. Our tour guide kept the mood light and upbeat despite the dismal weather. I have to caution individuals thinking about taking the tour solo. At times I felt as though I was just tagging along because everyone else was participating with friends and family. My attempts to stay engaged and interact with the guide were limited by a couple that monopolized much of our tour guides time while walking. All in all a nice experience with lots to learn and experience.

| The idea of mixing classical tourist tour with food tasting is a good idea.
But the historic/architecture explanations were quite poor, and the tasting (in particular the pizza at the end) not really fantastic. |
