| My 21 year old daughter and I visited Chicago for the first time and went on this tour the first day of our visit. We had a great time and learned about Chicago from our guide who was very entertaining. Not as much food as expected - we hadn't had lunch and got pretty hungry. Went back to some of the locations that were closest to our hotel. |

| My husband and I have visited Chicago too many times to count. So, while there for a weekend wedding in June 2006, we looked for something new and interesting to do. We discovered this food tasting and cultural tour, and asked around about it. Local friends told us that it was the "hot tour" to go on, so we tried it. We were not disappointed! It was actually the highlight of our Chicago visit due to its uniqueness and its entertaining guide.
Who knew that you could walk from Water Tower to Lincoln Park and not feel tired at all? Walking at a nice, leisurely pace, the guide fills you in on all sorts of interesting tidbits about Chicago and various landmarks and historical buildings. Plenty of stops to chat and learn (and rest for anyone who gets tired) as you walk from shop to shop to enjoy a unique tasting and lesson on the food item. I was pleasantly surprised that even with my food allergies, the food locations chosen easily worked into my restrictions. From a middle eastern deli to a tea shop to a spice shop, to a candy shop, to a pizza place, to a chocolate lounge -- all were unique, interesting, and tasty; plus it was a ton of fun to learn about the foods from the store owners/employees who welcomed our tour and guide like a favorite friend.
My husband I highly recommend this tour. Your guide is terrific, and easily adapts to the needs of the group. Two thumbs up! |

| It was very convenient to meet by Border's and the walk was just about right... loved the history and information that makes you feel a part of the neighborhood. The food tasting was very nice. Nice variety. Good pace. Good company. Nice group, fortunately. |

| Five friends and I were up in the Chicago area for work but decided to do some fun "touristy" things on the weekend. We researched online and stumbled on this tour. We decided to try it and were VERY pleased with our decision. This tour is great for three main reasons:
1) You get to try LOTS of types of food, all of which are VERY different, (all in small amounts so you don't get full) and oftentimes talk to the owner of the little store. All the restaurants/stores are local which makes you feel more like "one of the locals" and less like a tourist, which i like.
2) you get to walk a lot! I enjoy walking around cities, especially those as beautiful as Chicago. You absorb so much more on foot (with a tour guide) than you do by bus or car.
3) My favorite thing about the tour was all the history and funny stories our tour guide, Shane, provided us with. He told shared with us a plethora of very interesting information about Chicago - the origin of the name, early history, recent history, the buildings, the cuisine, the culture - everything!
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in food and a bit of history about the "windy city" ! it was very fun and enjoyable! |

| Shane was a great guide. He knew quite a bit about Chicago and the places we went by. I would say that the food we tasted was quite good but not very abundant. The 7 places we tried had interesting food. The Pizza place we stopped at had the best thin crust pizza I have ever had, sorry New York it even beat yours out.
I would recommend this tour and I would go on it again. With the one warning be prepared to walk for 3+ hours with only a few stops in between. If you can do that then this tour is for you. |

| My husband and I took the Chicago Food Planet Tour the middle of June '06. As the weather had not yet turned hot the three hour walk was a very comfortable quick paced one.
Shawn, our tour guide and owner of the company, is a high energy, knowledgeable young man. It turned out there were only four of us on our tour which was much to our advantage. We were able to each spend time with Shawnand really get to ask all the questions we had.
The tour took us through the Gold Coast , Old Town and Lincoln Park area's. Shawn did his research and was able to give us lots of local history as well as stop at some very interesting tasting points. One of my favorite's was the Spice House.
Many of the area's we went to I would never have found on my own as we were from out of town. This was a great way to get familiar with Chicago and some of the smaller out of the way shops. |

| This is one of many walking tours I have been on and I have to say, this one, thus far has been the best. Shane (our tour guide) is extremely knowledgeable about the city of Chicago, and he is able to present the information in both a way that is fun and educational. Without the food, this tour is great. With the 7 tastings, this tour turns phenomenal. I am from New York and I plan on ordering from many of the places we visited via their websites - that is how great the shops were.
The tour was perfectly paced and very well organized. During my next trip to Chicago I definitely plan on hitting up the places we stopped at during our tour, as well as the restaurants talked about as we walked past. And with the handout listing all of the restaurants and which train to take to get to each of them, this will be a cinch!
I highly recommend this tour!

| This was such a wonderful day for our group. We not only had the opportunity to visit, taste, and learn more about the foods and drink we consume, but we gathered additional information about the sites within our community. Our tour guide, Sean, was fantastic! He was vibrant, interactive, considerate, and thoroughly enthusiastic about what we were about to see and do. Sean knew how to involve all the group members in our tour so we all felt a part of it.
I have already recommended this tour to friends, family, neighbors, and business associates.
You should try this tour - it is the best!!!

| If you haven't gone on this tour yet you are missing out. Being a Chicago Native I thought that I had visited nearly every restaurant Chicago has to offer. Little did I know that I was completely neglecting the near north side. This tour opened my eyes to a whole new world of top notch restaurants. I highly recommend this tour to anyone, even Chicago natives, that want to do something a little out of the ordinary and experience REAL Chicago food. |
