| We can't speak highly enough of this tour. It was extremely well organized, with a good balance of walking and tasting. The variety of food sampled was just right, too -- enough that we certainly didn't walk away hungry but not so much that we could barely move afterwards. Our guide, Shayne (not sure of the spelling), was great fun. Even as locals, we learned something new about the neighborhoods, and he kept everything lively and entertaining. Raves all around. |

| It was a great neighborhood adventure. We all learned some history, some trivia and about all those little out of the way really nice shops that are fun and interesting in the various neighborhood's.
Was so nice just too be able to look around and listen to our group leader with out having to check a map for directions. Some wonderful toffee at the Fudge Pot. Learn how to make a proper cup of tea at Gschwendner. The cheese at Cobey Foods was soooo good as well as the pizza at O"Fame'.
The Spice House was nice becasue of being able to taste the hugh variety of spices on their shelves. Looking forward to taking my friends when they come to town to take the tour with me and to having a Ruben at Ashkenaz Deli where the aroma when we walked in was mouth watering.
The walking pace was just right and the guide had a lot of knowledge about the area and was a lot of fun and made us all feel very comfortable and pampered.
Would recommend it a must when in the city. |

| This tour was fantastic. The guide was brilliant. Very knowlegdable with a great manner. I learnt so much on this tour about the local area I'm living in. I would recommend this to anyone and might even do it again myself if I have guests from overseas.
Thanks very much!

| I've lived in Chicago for 7 years and still found this tour informative and enjoyable. We toured many of the places I never go (can't afford to!) like the Gold Coast, Rush Street, and Lincoln Park and found some good deals there. There was a great mix of chicago history, food knowledge, and architecture that would make it ideal for a mixed audience. Tad was wonderful, and the shop owners were kind and welcoming. The coupons that come with the talk are also incredible deals! (I got an entire $20 free teamaker for buying $20 worth of tea at this Tea shop on the tour.) The walk is far! it must be over two miles, and so it was great exercise. If you expect to gorge yourself, you might be disappointed, it really is just a tasting... but it was perfect for my husband and I. |

| All around the tour was great and everyone had a great time. It's something that really needs a nice warm day to enjoy however. Although the tastings we went to were all good in their own right, I wish there was more diversity in the types of foods we had. I think there were 6 tastings altogether and 3 of them were chocolate. It would have been nice to include places like vegetarian and or ice-cream/ frozen desserts, even a specialty meats shop would have been nice.
Our guide Shane was a really fun tour guide as well.
Overall I would recommend it highly! |

| Having lived in Chicago for several years, I decided to try out this tour with my dad on his recent visit. I'm always looking for new ways to show guests the city. I have good and not good things to say about the experience.
Pros:
The guide is very friendly and excited about the places he's taking you to. He has a great rapport with the owners of the stores/restaurants and also with the tour group.
The owners of the establishments are incredibly kind and patient with the tour and create a very welcoming and behind-the-scenes feel to the experience.
Cons:
The places on this tour don't have much to do with Chicago. They are all locally owned and operated, which is great, but they don't really have anything that specifically feels like Chicago-style food.
The food pieces really are samples (whereas on the NYC food tours, very generously portions are always distributed).
There is a lot of walking on this tour, which is great when the weather is nice but chilly when it's not. Be sure to plan accordingly.
Seven places are visited within a 3.5 hour time period (for about 10 minutes each), and no visits are made to places other than the sampling locales. The rest of the tour time is spent walking through neighborhoods. Bathroom breaks are scarce and bottled water is additional.
The tour ends in a very different spot than where it originates, which means making your own cab, bus, or el transportation arrangements back to the beginning.
All in all, this tour has a lot of potential. I know we were one of the first groups for this season and I'm sure a few kinks will be worked out along the way. But if anyone is looking for an experience similar to the NYC food tours, this will be a disappointment. |

| Shane was a wonderful tour guide. The tour was very well balanced. The business and restaurant stops were outstanding! There was not one that I would eliminate. If you are from Chicago, you will find some real treasures to put on your "visit again" list. |
