The ONLY negative that I can say is that my wife liked the oil & spice shops so much that we went back and spent a bunch of $$.

Our guide, Jennifer, did a great job! My fiance and I enjoyed the tour very much! The weather on the day of our tour was terrible, but we still loved it... now that says a lot.

Most of the tastings are available if you walk into the store alone, and most of them aren't specific to Chicago. So I think $40 is rather expensive for tastings of olive oil and cinnamon. If you like to go on a guided tour and be taken from store to store, rather than walk alone, then maybe this is for you

| What a great concept and well executed as well. Nicky was a wonderful guide through the various neighbourhoods we visited. She demonstrated passion for the city and for the tour and all of the stops on it. For me, the tea and cheese store visits weren't the favourites but that's based on personal preference.
The attention to detail was very positive. Bringing water at various stops, providing a few opportunities to sit, stopping at various points of interest during the longer walk periods were all appreciated.
Well done! |

We had a fun and informative tour which was a good introduction to some great neighborhoods. The specialty shops and restaurants were ones I'd not have discovered on my own. The group was friendly and the leader was interesting and knew a lot about food and also the points of interest as we walked along. I enjoyed the samples of foods, spices, tea, and other gourmet items.

This was an entertaining way to learn a lot of interesting facts about Chicago and to get a nice sampling of some of the food for which the city is famous. The walk was easy. The guide was fun to be with, thoughtful of her clients and full of helpful tips that made our weekend in the city even better than expected. The entrepreneurs who visualized this tour came up with a winner!

Excellent way to spend a few hours in Chicago. The venues were diverse. We learned about the history and architecture of north side neighborhoods. Our guide Jennifer was first rate. My son and I found the tour better than expected.

Strongly recommend this tour if you are in Chicago for more than a few days. It gives you a great overview of the food and local specialities. They put a bit too much empathsis on the high cost food providers in the area, but it was well worth $40.00 tour fee. Lots of walking.

When they say the tour goes rain or shine, they aren't kidding. We did our tour during the rain from Gustav and it rained the entire day but it wasn't cold. There is plenty of walking but the stops are terrific and Emily was a great guide who knew a lot about the areas we walked through as well as the stops we made. I particularly enjoyed the Spice Market and Tom, the owner, who gave a great presentation on various cinnamons. The tea shop and oil store were also favorites of mine and I went retraced my steps (still in the rain) to make some purchases. I highly recommend the tour for some great shops and some interesting history of Chicago.
