My wife and two young twenty something children did the walking tour and had a fabulous time! The food was wonderful, the tour guide shared information that included architectural, cultural, historical facts and oh yea, she talked about food too! We went into neighborhoods (really nice!) that we wouldn’t have ever seen on our own. I would do it again and whole heartedly recommend it to others. You do walk a significant amount, so GOOD shoes are a must.

Great Architectural Bonus Tour!

Our Tour Guide (Nikki) was a terriffice moderator As far as calling it a food tour, I have to say that tasting oils and spices as two of the stops, really dosen't justify calling it a "Food Tour" However the 3 1/2 hours we spent walking was made very enjoyable by Nikki and seeing the architecture in the different neighborhoods was wonderful You really should change the name of the tour!

Good way to know more about Chicago and its taste

I arrived one day before from Spain to improve my English skills. I booked this tour by internet. It was easy and fast. The tourist guide was very professional. The group nice. All the places had a special flavor. (chocolates, oils and vinegars, teas and the famous pizza from Chicago.). This tour is something different. I recommend it. Concha

My wife and I enjoyed the walking tour, our guide was energetic and well spoken. We think for the amount of food that you get this is not really a food tour. The spice and oil shops were great, however, we could have gone in there for free tastings anyway. The cheese and crackers, nothing special, we can get this type of cheese at home. Fifteen minutes for Pizza was not long enough, perhaps you should end there and let us linger with a glass of wine. We did enjoy it, but would not really say it is a must do.

The food tour was very informative not only about the food we tasted, but also about the architecture and little known facts about Chicago. It was a most enjoyable afternoon. One note, though, if you have a van, SUV, or CRV and park in the lot next to the deli, you will be charged $5 extra. So instead of paying $12, you will pay $17. This is the in before 10 and out before 7 timeframe. This should be noted in the information given for the tours.

I wish we would have went on the first day in town because we didn't get a chance to go back to all the shops and cool places we passed along the way. We did our tour on the last day and we had a plane to catch. It was really fun and a great way to see neighborhoods that are not tourist traps. The food was great and the local merchants were pleasant and willingly to share their crafts. I highly recommend doing this tour.
