We were four adults ranging in age from 27 to 60 (3 female, one male) who were 1000 miles from home. This fabulous walking tour of Chicago neighborhoods gave us an overview of unique buildings, city history, and food tasting at local shops. The eclectic mixture of samplings came from shops that included a deli, a tea shop, a chocolate maker, a spice emporium, an oil & vinegar vendor, a pizza restaurant. The walk was casually paced. We stopped to hear the history of buildings and neighborhoods between being treated to demonstrations and food tastings at local shops. This was an innovative way to get to know and appreciate Chicago. I have done this tour twice now in two consecutive years, and each time it was a delight.

What a fun tour! I'd recommend it to anyone, foodie and non-foodie alike. The tour guide (Jen) was super. The hosts at each of the establishments we visited were great, very knowledgeable and personable. Next time I'm in Chicago, I'll probably take the Buck Town/Wicker Park Tour.

My husband and I truly enjoyed this tour. The food was excellent, and the tour guide was very informative and entertaining. While we expected to get a little history on the restaurants we were visiting, we were surprised to get a history lesson of the neighborhoods we passed along the way. Our tour guide explained early Chicago architecture very well. One stop on the tour was Oz Park, named after the creator of the Wizard of Oz, who got his inspiration from the district. The kids will love the statues of their favorite characters (Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, etc.) that decorate the park. The store owners were friendly and helpful, as were the people in our group who were from interestingly diverse backgrounds. And the food was so good, my husband wanted the tour to provide samples from even more establishments, but I thought the tour provided just enough. For those who are on a diet, you walk off what you eat, so put on some comfy shoes and enjoy!!!

We had a fantastic time on this tour. We at a pretty good size breakfast about an hour before going on the tour and were still stuffed for hours after the end of it, no lunch needed. The samples were all delicious. We had mini reubens (I was given a potato pancake as I am a vegetarian, they were very accommodating), a big iced tea, some of the best toffee ever, and a huge piece of stuffed pizza, among other tastings. Plus, I never though I could enjoy myself so much in a shop that sells nothing but olive oil and vinegars. I really enjoyed discovering new shops and restaurants. We have been to Chicago three or four times in the last few years and have never even heard of the "Old Town" area that a good deal of the tour was centered in. It was exciting to explore and learn new facts about the city and its history. We are planning on checking out the Bucktown/Wicker Park tour on our next trip. I would highly recommend this tour!

a friend and i took this tour after browsing tripadvisor. the reviews don't lie! the guides are really friendly and helpful. They defintely try to make the tour interesting, not cliche and fun. Also, don't expect enough food for a full meal (definitely eat a good breakfast beforehand)!

I found all of the tastings good and enjoyed them all. I would recommend this tour and we plan to go back to some in future visits. |

The awesome weather sure was helpful, but this great tour does not need further enhancement. Something for any tastebud, information on the neighborhoods, all questions answered and sufficient time at any station, all in a compact package, topped by a great guide and a really interesting group.

Loved the content, Loved the variation of food and resturants. LOVED the tour guide! Ariana was fantastic! Very knowledgable, approachable, funny. Seemed very comfortable doing her job and seemed to love the tour as much as we did. I especially liked Old town Oil, and really enjoyed Tea Geshwender. Would take this tour again in a heartbeat, and have recomended it to everyone who will listen!
