| We had a great tour and our guide was fantastic. We got plenty of interesting information about food and its background and had enough time to spend on every spot in order to explore the stores by ourselves. In addition we got explanations about builidings and areas we passed by. I can highly recommend this tour!!!! I really enjoyed it, so join the tour whenever you make a stopover in Chicago! |

| We really enjoyed the walking tour and the tastings. Our guide (Jennifer) was enthusiastic and passionate about the neighborhoods and shops we visited. I think the price is a little expensive when you think about the amount of food...obviously you factor in the "experience" and tour aspects but I think less than $40 would be more appropriate. I'm going to try to do the Wicker Park/Bucktown tour though...so I'll make the stretch. Thanks for introducing me to new places that I can't wait to visit again (Spice Merchant and Old Town Oil for sure!). |

| Very interesting tour of the near north neighborhoods. I was very impressed with our tour guides - extremely knowledgeable, genuinely friendly, and decidedly passionate. We enjoyed the historical and architectural info, which was heavier at the end of the tour (would have liked a bit more historical info about the areas at the beginning of the tour, especially the Rush St area).
Heralding this partially as a "food tasting" was a bit of a stretch. Aside from the final stop'shearty slice of pizza, there wasn't much substance. The 14-year old with me was starving by the end of the 3 1/2 hours, even though we had eaten a large breakfast late in the morning.
All-in-all, it was a fun experience. We told our local Chicago guests that we would recommend the tour overall. Adding a little more commentary and lore about the area at the beginning (shorten up the tea stop) and augmenting the tastingpart would enhance the experience. |

| Who knew that 18 year old balsamic vinegar tasted so incredible? This tour took us to Chicago neighborhoods and locations we might've overlooked. We enjoyed the knowledgeable and humorous tour guides (especially the one who exclaimed "I'm such a nerd about the World's Fair!"). We gaped at gorgeous archectecture, sampled some tasty food, and got some exercise. Loved the tour! |

| To start with the tour was extremely well organized and our host (Shane) was extremely personable and knowledgeable. The tour mixed in information on each of the foods we were introduced to with a myriad of facts about the areas of Chicago we were walking through. The tour was very well planned and scanned the spectrum from tasting exotic oils and vinegars to learning about rare spices, from tasting homemade hummus to sipping unique teas, from sampling incredible chocolate to devouring one of a kind stuffed pizza.
My recommendation is to book early because this tour will sell out fast. There wasn't one person that I spoke to in our group who wouldn't go back again with a group of friends or relatives (even the hard to please ones!), including us!
Well done Chicago Food Planet, we look forward to trying your Bucktown tour in the near future! |

| It was a very good experience and I strongly recomend it to someone who is visiting chicago for the first time, just moved here, living here but never really explored the city before.. It is a good weekend thing to do! plus you get to know the history of the dowtown (which is quite interesting) from the very enthusiastic and well read tour guides. Also, we got a bunch of cupons for some really interesting stores in the downtown...makes you wanna go there again:)
That was money well spent!! |

| We were expecting a tasting tour and were very disappointed. Started off with 1/2 a potato pancake at noon and didn't taste anything of consequence until a piece of pizza at 3:30 PM. In the interim "tasted" oils and balsamic vinegar, spices, tea, a cube of cheese and hummus on one cracker and a bite of chocolate. Tour guests joked among themselves as to the frugal nature of the tastings. Very poor value for $40 per person.
Guides were excellent. Very lively and knowledgeable of the walking areas. Too bad that they were burdened by the poorly conceived "tastings". This tour could be something great if someone would put some effort into the food content.
I do not recommend this tour. |

| Our guide was wonderful. I was by myself from Oklahoma and I decided to do the tour while my husband was in a meeting. I met 14 fun women with their daughters from Tennessee, and was adopted by the group. A fun time was had by all, and I left feeling as though I now had 15 new friends (tour guide and Tennessee ladies).
Thank you! |

| We loved the food tour. Our guide was very knowledgable and fun. There was a lot of walking, which I loved. The foods we sampled were very good. Some of the stops that we made, such as the tea shop and the oil and vinegar shop, were fun and interesting. I would never have gone into those shops if I weren't on the tour. We went back to purchase things from each of those shops. To add to the food sampling was the very informative and interesting discussion of the various buildings, homes, and hotels. We would highly recommend this tour. |
