Overall I did enjoy the tour, but I think there was a little too much sightseeing than tasting. I thought we should have visited a few more restaurants and less houses. |

Our guide Carrie was fun and informed about the neighborhood, the local eateries, and the owners. I'm a former Chicago tour guide and this tour ranks among the best I've been on--for the culture, history and culinary treats. I took a Chicago friend the next day to many of the spots we visited. |

I recommend this to EVERYONE!!! Having been to Chicago several times & having done all the "touristy" things to do, I was looking for something different...this was IT!!! We had the best time. Our tour guide Gina was fantastic, the food was awesome, the history & detail she gave of the neighborhood was great. She definately shows the passion for the neighborhood she calls home! I've told everyone I know about this. I can't wait to come back & go on a different neighborhood tour!!! |

I love all the Food Planet Tours and so will you..... no doubt!! But my favorite is the Buck Town/Wicker Park tour. What a fantastic tour, the area is awesome, the food is absolutely YUMMY and the guides are so informative. I've been on this particular tour twice now because I keep wanting to bring more and more friends on this delightful tour. You will not be disappointed! Number one favorite food on this tour..... hands down it's always HOT CHOCOLATE!!! |

Jeanna was an excellent tour guide. It was really nice to combine the food tasting along with the neighbor culture. Definitely will recommend |

Lisa was our guide and really did a nice job touring us through Bucktown and Wicker Park. She was pleasant and enthusiastic. She not only knew the food...but was knowledgeable about the culture, history and architecture of the area. A great value too. |

If you are trying to decide which tour to take...choose Bucktown/Wicker Park. It gets an A+ from me. Our guide was very knowledgeable, interesting and articlulate. We got full with lots of diverse food. No charge for on the street parking; plus we were able to easily walk from the end of the tour back to our car saving a return taxi fee. The walking distance was ok with good stops and pacing. This was very different from the Near North tour which should be skipped. The Near North tour gets a C- from me. (I can say this because a few weeks ago we went on the Near North tour covering the Gold Coast/Old Town area...It was a big disappointment in all areas. On the Near North tour we walked a lot more, especially between the last 2 stops for just one piece of pizza! The server sent the remainder of the Pizza back to the kitchen! Parking cost was high as was the required return taxi. Two of the stops hardly count: tasting spice in your hand and tasting oil and vineager don't count as food! If you whip up a dip with them... maybe, but not alone! And the guide didn't help either as she said we would get full...really...on cinnamon and oil and vineager!) For all the above reasons, choose the right tour: GO ON THE BUCKTOWN.WICKER PARK TOUR not the Near North tour. You're welcome! |
