My husband, sister & I enjoyed this tour very much! The weather was hot but our guide did his best to keep us walking in the shade as he filled us in on the history of the area & the architectural changes in the houses along the route. The food was all delicious and we were quite full by the end of the tour! We wish that we could have gone when the weather was cooler then we would have had more energy at the end of the tour to go back and do additional shopping. My sister & I are originally from the Chicago suberbs and we enjoyed trying the traditional Chicago foods along with some new additions (I Cream was a blast!). We highly recommend this tour for locals and visitors alike. |

This was one of the best Chicago area activities I've done in a long time. Our guide Kent was organized, cheerful, informative and just plain fun. We visited 5 local food based establishments and they were all wonderful. The brief walk through the nearby Wicker Park neighborhood revealed the most lovely historical homes.
I was stuffed by the time the tour ended. It was the most perfect end to my brief visit. |

The tour was really enjoyable. I was surprised at the amount of food we were served. I envisioned getting very small samples but we got regular size servings! The weather was hot, but there were enough stops indoors or in shady spots that it was very pleasant. Our guide Kent was knowledgeable, personable, and humerous making the time go quckly. And the group was small enough that you got a chance to chat with other participants along the way, adding to the fun. We absolutely enjoyed ourselves, and would highly recommend it. |

My husband and I took the Bucktown/Wicker Park tour as part of a week-long trip to Chicago, and it was truly my favorite part of the entire week. Not only was the food very tasty, but our tour guide, Kent, truly loved his neighborhood, and it showed. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the area, and he peppered the tour with interesting anecdotes and lots of humor.
The hot chocolate and homemade marshmallows at Hot Chocolate were amazing, and the pizza and home-brewed beer at Piece were also standouts. Goddess & Grocer had many unusual items (eg, chocolate and bacon bars). Really, I could go on and on.
I'm sure the other tour is wonderful, too, but I'm glad we did the Bucktown/Wicker Park one. Being that many of the tourist attractions are in the Near North area, it was nice to tour and eat somewhere where the locals live.
Most of the portions were the size of what they'd be with a normal meal, so plan accordingly. |

This was our first time to Chicago and we were excited about getting to try some of the local favorites. The Bucktown/Wicker Park tour was very easy to get to from downtown on the blue line. The first few stops do fill you up quickly, however, they add a nice little walking tour around the area neighborhood and park to get you prepared for the last couple of stops. It was a great way to see a different part of the city, learn about it's history, and have some great food in the process! Not sure if I'd recommend it for kids though. It was a little warm out so I know mine would have been complaining. |

This was one of the best activities I have done in Chicago! We enjoyed Kent's tour and all the delicious food! We can't wait to go back and try all these restaurants again. The neighborhood information was fun and interesting and it was great to meet people from all over North America. |

This well organized tour was informative and entertaining. The tastings were both delicious and filling, my favorite was Hot Chocolate and iCream. The guide, Nicole, was friendly, outgoing and a wealth of information. I recommend this tour as it is a great introduction to a neat neighborhood. Will definately revisit both these 'hoods on my next visit to Chicago. Hopefully there will be tours in other neighborhoods too. |

Jess was such a fantastic tour guide and very knowledgeable about Bucktown and Wicker Park. I loved the unique combination of history/architecture in combination with the food tastings. Great food choices. I actually chose this tour vs the other River North one because I had read about the foods that were served and thought the "menu" was better. I've already told everyone I know about doing this tour when they are in Chicago. Can't wait to see if the list of tours expands for the next time we're in town! |
