Great time on the Bucktown/Wicker Park tour!

This was our second tour with ChicagoFoods and we were not disappointed! Kent was such a wonderful guide - he was full of knowledge and expressed a genuine love for the Bucktown/Wicker Park neighborhoods. The food was amazing, as always, and even though it was a bit cold, our group of five was satisfied with how the day went. We are already looking into the Chinatown tour!

You will love the Bucktown/Wicker Park area - the history, architecture and food offerings. Kent was an fantastic tour guide - enthusiastic and informative. The food was delicious - traditional Chicago style hot dog was delicious, pizza (though not deep dish) was excellent (including beer sampling), falafel the best I've ever had and amazing frozen hot chocolate and unique ice cream. Highly recommend!

I have been on the Near North tour before and loved it so much that I wanted to try a different one when I came back to Chicago. The Bucktown/Wicker Park tour fit the bill! There were great selections of foods on the tour as well as a little history about the neighborhoods. I love these kind of things and if you are looking for something fun and different to do while visiting, try one of these tours! I highly recommend them!

Positive introduction to Bucktown/Wicker Park

Our guide Colleen was funny, nice, and extremely enthusiastic about the neighborhood and the restaurant owners who make it great. We learned a lot about the history of the area as well. The food was good, but nothing that blew us away. There was more than enough to fill you up. I would certainly recommend the tour for a look at the neighborhood and to scout out future places to eat and shop.

Loved It!!

Our tour guide (Kent), was very friendly and knowlegable about the area, restaurants and neighborhoods we toured. We strolled past amazing historic homes while learning a bit of Chicago's fascinating history. Along the way there were 6 food tastings. I only caution you here if you have a picky palette. I loved all of the food, but my friend (who hates almost all form of vegetable) was less than pleased at a few of the stops. Overall, I am pleased with my experience and would try some of Food Planet's other tours.

Fun, interesting tour that gives the flavor of Bucktown and Wicker park neighborhoods. Carrie, our guide, was delightful, informative, and very enthusiastic. We especially liked the architectural, quiet streets part.

A tourist in my own city

My husband and I took this tour and very much enjoyed our time. Our guide, Nicole, was outstanding. I am a vegetarian and really appreciate that this tour company is willing to make accommodations for people with dietary restrictions or allergies. We live in the suburbs and enjoyed learning about an area of Chicago we were not so familiar with. The food included was great and I'd recommend this tour for tourists & locals alike.

Kent was cool, he was very knowledgable. Wasn't a fan of the mediterranean place. Would be nicer if there were more food stops, and if the food samples were bigger (except for the hot dog and fallafel, which wasn't good IMO). It would have been nice if the hot choclate place gave a cup of hot chocolate in addition to the sandwich. It also would have been nice to get a decent size cup of icream instead of a small sample cup. I was told I would be full after the tour, and I wasn't... I went to a restaurant after to eat lunch. All in all, the tour was good. I just think we should have been given more food for what we paid for. I also think the company should pay the tour guides more money so they don't have to ask for tips. I paid $50 for each person for this tour and then I was asked to give a tip to the tour guide on top of that... turned out to be a pretty expensive tour that was good, but didn't fill me up and I wasn't a fan of all of the food stops. Additionally, the choice in vegetable salad at the catering ladies shop seemed a weird sample to eat that by itself. There were so many good things there, I'm not sure why they picked a small portion of vegetable salad to give to us.
