What a wonderful adventure we had- everything was so well organized with a delightful and energetic guide who was kind, observant of all of us, efficient with serving the samples, friendly in each establishment where we enjoyed their specialty food and beverage--plus he was able to answer any questions we had and was very knowledgeable about the neighborhoods. It was a well worthwhile use of our time and money :) Great fun! Thanks for the memories!! We plan on doing more of the same.

Perfect balance of food sampling, walking and history. Only regret is that we didn't have time to do the other one.

We enjoyed all the restaurant stops. Our guide was friendly and very informative. We felt this tour had more food than the Lincoln Park tour. We enjoyed the LIncoln Park tour for the arquitecture part more.

My wife and I decided to take on this food adventure after reading all the positive reviews. It seemed like safe bet to spend our first afternoon in Chicago and we were not disappointed. Our guide Ben was very cheerful and knowledgable about the restaurants and history of the city. Our group was a good mix of out-of-town couples looking to sample some area food. The 3 hour tour went by fast and I do not remember wishing it to speed up or slow down it was set at a good pace. The food was great, chicago hotdog, iced coffee with homemade marshmello (favorite), pasta primavira salad, big slice of pizza and local beer sample, (middle eastern pita) falafel and nitro ice cream! so there was plenty to eat. During the tour we walked through around the neighborhoods and were pointed out other good eats and detail on architectural buildings. The food and experience was worth every penny. note: wear good shoes covered about 2 miles.

The Bucktown/Wicker Park Food Tasting tour was fabulous. Kent, our guide, was very, very knowledgable about the area and also was very entertaining with thoughts and suggestions in what to see and do in the area. My family loved the entire tour and it was among the best things that we did in Chicago. The food tasting was delicious. I would highly recommend it to all my friends and would like to take the other food tasting tour when I come back to the city. Darlene

Best part of a great trip to Chicago

The food from all the restaurants was great; our tour guide (Kent) was knowledgeable and personable; the area was beautiful and interesting - in short, it was all good. We've been to Chicago several times but would never have explored this area of town if it hadn't been for this tour. We liked it so much we went back on our own a few days later and purchased more food to take home with us. Four of the six businesses on the tour were owned and operated by women and I liked being able to support young entrepreneurs, while enjoying great food too. The walking even helped offset the calories consumed! Great experience, I highly recommend it!

Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Enjoyed seeing the neighborhoods and getting beyond the main streets. The residential architecture is very interesting. The restaurants we visited were very good and the samples were large. We appreciated learning about other restaurants in the area and we, in fact, went back and had a delicious dinner at Le Buchon. I would recommend this to any Chicago visitor. Come with a big appetite.

We had a great time! Weather was beautiful and 16 of us walked through the Bucktown and Wicker Park neighborhoods stopping at six places for wonderful foods. I've lived in the Chicago area for all my life and never knew there was a foodie walking tour. Went to a similar tour in NYC (Greenwich Village/Soho) and experienced a wonderful time. Thing is, we only went to one establishment where we actually sat and ate the food...most of the time, we ate our small offerings outside and listened to our tourguide. However, in Chicago, we actually sat in a pre-determined area at every restaurant which I thought was much nicer, eating a typical Chicago style hotdog; had iced "hot chocolate" drink with a homemade marshmellow at Hot Chocolate; a slice of pizza with a small tasting portion of beer (also good); a fantastic falafel with the best hummus I've ever tasted; a small pasta cup from Goddess Grocer (was okay, but loved to have a deli like this closer to the NW suburbs!) and finally, my absolute favorite: iCream where we all had a small cup of icecream whipped up from nitrogen! All in all, we had a fantastic time and our tour guide, Jess(?) was fantastic! By the way, we were stuffed! Had to bag the last sandwich (falafel) for a late supper...couldn't eat anymore despite walking for nearly 3 hours. Will do it again!
