My husband and I enjoyed the tour so much! All the food was awesome and we learned some interesting facts about Chicago. I loved that the tour let us experience Chicago in an "off the beaten path" way. We got to see and experience things that only a Chicago resident would be able to show us. It wasn't touristy at all and we loved it! We can't wait to come back again and do the other tour. Hopefully even more will be added in the future.

Guide was smart and friendly. Group was large at 14 but things went smoothly. Food offerings were varied and ranged from great to good; would certainly want to visit several of the cafes again. Guide provided interesting information on the homes and about the places where we were given samples. A LOT OF FOOD. We took some home for later. Bucktown did not have much for shops; Wicker had a lot of varied if expensive stores. A very enjoyable three hours. Will recommend to friends/family.

Exploring Chicago's Many Neighborhood Treasures

I am a life long Chicago resident and attended this tour with my boyfriend and two teenage children. The tour provided a variety of interesting topics: culinary, historic & architectural. Because of the variety the tour was never tiresome and kept everyone’s full attention. Of course the highlight of the tour was all the amazing treats we were able to indulge in. I must admit I was nervous that there would only be small samples served, but to my surprise that was not the case. Instead, most establishments served generous portions, so much so that we went home with leftovers because we were so full. The variety of cuisine covered many of Chicago’s many culinary delights from pizza to ice cream to a traditional Middle Eastern sandwich. We were able to experience recipes from a family that migrated to Chicago from Jordan as well as an award winning pastry chef who attended a local culinary school. Learning about the interesting stories of the owners of these popular establishments was a great contribution to the tour. In between the tastings we had a chance to explore both Wicker Park & Buck Town. While out stretching our legs we were able to learn about the history behind these popular Chicago neighborhoods & about some of the local architecture. The information provided was interesting and gave us a glimpse into how quickly a less desirable area can turn into the hippest place around. All the information provided was an interesting look into the history that made Chicago one of the best cities in the world. Last, but not least, was our tour guide Ben. He was a local Chicagoan who was extremely upbeat and knowledgeable. He provided us with his own local outlook on Chicago as well as answered all of our questions. He was extremely accommodating and positive. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, local or visitor. For visitors it provides a glimpse of a local Chicago neighborhood that may be overlooked within typical tourist attractions. It’s a laid back & relaxing tour that brings you deep into what Chicago is truly about, diversity blending together. For locals this tour offers a look into why Chicago is such an amazing city to live. I visited places that I wouldn’t normal go to, but will be certain to visit again now that I’ve experienced them first hand. My two children loved the tour so much they both suggested that we move to the area toured, and since that is not currently an option we will be traveling back to these areas again very soon via public trans. From all the great food to the hip little shops to the bustling intersections to the quiet tree lined this tour covered it all.

Yum Yum Chicago

I have done one other food tour which was in New York (Lower east side) and although I loved it, the Chicago one was much better where food was concerned. The Portions were enormous (and I really think they could be a bit smaller) but it did give you a sense of the food you were eating. I loved the tour guide. The only comment I would have is it would be more fun to have a better historical sense of the area. there was a little of that but since I'm a history buff that would be of interest to me.

Top Notch Chicago Experience

Kent (tour guide for Bucktown/Wicker Park) was very interesting and knowledgeable. We asked him a ton of questions about shopping, eating, etc. and enjoyed his recommendations. The tour completely filled us up and then some, so I would definetly recommend to not eat breakfast before the tour. The walking part was super easy and the architecture was fascinating. Overall, one of the best highlights to our one week vacation in Chicago.

The Bucktown/Wicker Park Food Tasting/Cultural tour was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. The Tour Guide (Kent) was excellent. His knowledge of the neighborhoods, food and architecture made this a very enrichening experience. The food from all locations was also excellent. There was no one that was still hungry by the end.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. You chose excellent places to visit. We thought ALL of the food was tasty. We especially enjoyed visiting Hot Chocolate. We thought the walking tour to homes was too long. We appreciated the list of other restaurants in the area and plan to go back to Hot Chocolate for sure and others also. Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable! It was very interesting to learn about Wicker Park and Bucktown. Thank you.

When i booked the tickets i figured that it would just be small finger foods at the tour, but it wasnt like that at all. The portions of food were huge! By the 4th stop i didnt know if i could finsh my pizza and we still had two more stops to go! The icecream that we had at i cream was by far the BEST icecream i have ever had. It felt like it had just melted in my mouth it was fabulous!
