Bucktown/Wicker Park Food Tasting & Cultural Tour

I'm new to Chicago, and had a friend in town. I had been wanting to explore Bucktown/Wicker Park for awhile, but hadn't quite gotten around to it yet. The food tour served as a great way to get introduced to a neighborhood. You know when you go to a great area packed with restaurants, you don't quite know where to begin, and Yelp isn't always as reliable as you'd like? This is the perfect way to get acquainted with an area, and dip your toes in to the well of great food and great neighborhoods of Chicago. First off, Sophie, our tour guide, was really great. She was a lot of fun, gracefully managed the music festival that impeded our hearing and taxed her voice, and was very knowledgeable about the restaurants, culture, and overall "scene." Second, when they say "tasting" they really mean a good portion everywhere you go. It's a good thing its over 3 hours, cause you need the walking to work up an appetite for the next stop. Plus, I loved that you're learning more than just the restaurants; you also learn about the history of the neighborhoods, the architecture of the homes, and get to understand the vibe of the place.

I LOVED the Bucktown/Wicker Park food tour. Our tour guide (Sophie) was funny and articulate and gave a great balance of food, history, and architecture. I have been recommending this tour to everyone in Chicago! Worth the money, and the food was delicious. The drink from Hot Chocolate was to die for. The falafel from Sultan's was the best I've ever had. 10 out of 10. Thanks Chicago Food Planet!

Our tour was guided by Sofie and she did an amazing job! It was a really fun mix of tasty treats, local history and architectural tib-bits. We even had the owner of one of the beautiful, historical houses come out during the tour and talk about his home. What fun neighborhoods! Sultan's falafel was absolutely amazing and iCream made for the perfect ending to the tour. I would definitely go on the tour again and will look into the other tours offered!

This was a fun way to learn about a different part of Chicago. Colleen was terrific -- funny, engaging, and knowledgeable. Come hungry - the food selections were varied and portions plentiful, from a Chicago Dog to iced hot chocolate (wow) and falafel. The walking tour gave us a nice glimpse of life in Bucktown and Wicker Park.

This tour was great. Lisa did a great job at describing the history of the area, and the food all tasted great. They also do a good job at spreading the food out so you can enjoy it all. I highly recommend this tour.

We went on the Bucktown tour with Kent and really had a great time. The rain was a bother for the first two stops but after that we were dry. Good thing he had some rain ponchos! The food was delicious and I loved the iced chocolate drink. There was plenty of food and the leisure stroll through the park and neighborhoods was enjoyable. We brought our son along and he had a good time, too! This is a fun area to explore with plenty of good shopping and eats!

I booked the tour as a birthday party adventure for a my 14 year old daughter. Everybody said it was the best party ever. We visit the city all the time but most of the kids we brought had never been to the area before. They LOVED it and all the history and amazing food. Thank you so much for making my daughter's birthday so memorable. Please give a special thank you to Kent.

Our guide, Colleen was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The food was great, good variety and were accomodating with dietary needs. Great way to see some different neighborhoods, houses, food and locals.

We had a great time... Kent was wonderful...It gave us a chance to see other neighborhoods we might not have visited., plus the food was good.. We went back to some of the place we passed on the tour...
