I highly recommend the Bucktown/Wicker Park Food Planet tour for anyone interested in the history of these two popular neighborhoods and anyone who appreciates the inside scoop on local dining. Our guide, Gina, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, the perfect combination.

We brought two college students to Chicago for first time and felt this tour would be a great way for them to see & taste the best Chicago has to offer. This tour combined both classic Chicago tastes and more exotic selections, from Chicago hot dogs to falafel sandwiches. Each food stop was carefully chosen to provide quality, including several award-winning restaurants/chefs. We enjoyed the walking between eateries, and learned a great deal about the history & architecture of Bucktown and Wicker Park from our animated, articulate guide.

This tour was well organised and Gina our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the area and the food we tasted. There was certainly plenty of food, towards the end I couldn't finish all the tastings as much as I was enjoying the food.

Our guide was wonderful. She was personable, knowledgeable, and clear. Content had great balance of history, food, architecture, walking, standing, sitting. I definitely will go on another tour of yours.

Gina was a terrific tour guide. Helped that she lives in the area and knew the ins-and-outs of where to go; provided interesting insights as we walked. Would definitely do this tour again when I'm back in Chicago BUT I hope it'll be a different set of places. Have to keep it fresh especially since there are so many eateries in the area.

Good for any lover of food and architecture except

We came from the SF Bay Area and loved the food and architecture. Here's a caveat: we invited the friend we were staying with who is an enthusiastic Chicagoan. We hadn't realized he was a Chicago snob as well. For every place we went (all of which we enjoyed) he had a better idea and occasionally expressed it disdainfully. I would suggest leaving people like that at home.

We did similar tours in New York, so we were prepared ;-). We loved this one, because of the nice combination of the locations we visited (many tastings, lunch afterwards can be skipped) and the explanation of the architecture in the neighbourhood. Thanks to our host, who made these three hours unforgettable!
