Yum!!

I was in town for a girls' weekend--the Wicker Park tour was a highlight of the weekend! Kent did an awesome job keeping us informed and entertained, and the amount of food was just right! As out-of-towners, we never would have found the Wicker Park/Bucktown area on our own; after experiencing the neighborhood during the tour, we returned with the rest of our group for brunch at Feast and shopping. Delightful!! Only drawback--the granola sample from Milk and Honey seemed pretty chintzy--maybe make a different eatery one of the tastes? It doesn't seem quite right that they get the same coverage as say, George's who welcomed our big group inside.

Rainy Day Food Tour

Even though the weather didn't cooperate, we had a delightful time on our tour. Kent was very knowledgeable about the area and its history. We definitely would not have visited the Bucktown/Wicker Park area without having scheduled this tour. A trainee, Ben, was extremely friendly (He just needs a bit more practice on his delivery so it sounds more natural.). My only recommendation is to make the tour a little shorter, maybe 2-2 1/2 hrs.

Good cultural tour and GREAT food tour

We selected this tour for the tasting experiences and we were delighted. We started out with an opportunity to try out the real Chicago Hot Dog (which was very good indeed). Then, we were flabbergasted with the BEST Hot Chocolate we ever tasted in our whole life. We also had the chance to taste local beer along with a New Haven thin pizza and both were delicious. BUT the best feature in this tour was our visit to iCream cafe. This was a UNIQUE yet ASTONISHING experience. I never imagined tasting such a fresh and unusually flavoured ice cream. If I was living in Chicago, I would be addicted to this place. The only downside to this tour was the Granola cup that was given to us at the beginning of the tour. We did not visit this restaurant (just passed by) so we were disappointed. I would recommend they change this spot for another one if they can't accomodate the visitors inside their business in the middle of the afternoon. The cultural tour was also interesting and our guide (Kent) explained us many things about the Wicker Park and Bucktown areas. Great tour, great selection of restaurants and solid knowledge of the Bucktown / Wicker Park areas' history by the tour guide.

A good way to learn about out of the way Chicago dining and drinking establishments. Sample and learn about good food and interesting dining establishments. Learn about the neighborhood and its history. A good time at a casual pace.

I had a great time!

I really enjoyed this tour. I would definitely return and bring other out-of-town guests. I live in Chicago, but don't spend much time in Wicker Park, so almost all of the restaurants were new to me. Our guide, Kent, was informative and entertaining. I enjoyed all of the tastings, although by the end, I was stuffed! I think the cocoa filled me up quite a bit because it was rich and the serving was fairly large. Here are the tastings in my order of preference: Piece Hot Chocolate Coco Rouge George's Hot Dogs iCream Goddess & Grocer Milk & Honey

If you like food and a little history, then definitely do this tour. This tour is great for locals and tourists alike. You get try a buch of different foods from restaurants you may not have normally gone to and you learn a little history of the neighborhood while you're at it. I really hope they expand this to more areas of the City.

100% Recommended!

Great, tour that I would highly recommend. Easy to get to from our Gold Coast hotel via the metro, and a great way to taste food from the best places. They were super accomidating even though we were 15 minutes getting there: easily caught up to them and it was no big deal. "Tastings" were full servings for the most part! A whole Chicago dog, whole 12 oz. iced hot chocolate and house made marshmallow, 2 truffles, 1/4 cup of ice cream, 2 oz of granola, 2 oz of roasted beet salad, and a big slice of pizza with 2-3 oz. of beer. A great deal and not too much walking at all!

I had a wonderful time at the tour..it combined the gastronomic and historical! Our guide was very informative and knowledgable about the area. My favorites were the hot chocolate and hot dogs! Helped that the weather was great.. I would like to have experienced more eateries although perhaps its difficult to do in 3 hours. Overall the food tour is a must try especially if youre new to the area...its a great introduction to the neighborhood and a chance to try some great food!

Not only did the Bucktown/Wicker Park tour include really yummy food (the Hot Chocolate was amazing; I was not expecting to be impressed by a drink, but DANG!), but it also involved a bunch of information about the history and architecture of the area. Such a nice surprise!

The Chicago Food tour of Bucktown and Wicker Park was our first scheduled event of our get-away weekend. Kent was an engaging and entertaining guide as we learned about these unique neighborhoods. We appreciated how he pointed out architectural details and highlighted restaurants and businesses that were not even part of our sampling. By the end of the tour, we felt so familiar with the area that we made a point of coming back for great food and nightlife. This tour was well worth our time and money and we highly recommend it to people looking for something different OFF the MagMile.
