Can't ask better!

I went on North side tour a month ago and had a blast so I decided to give a shot for Bucktown tour. Of course I had a very good time again. All my girlfriends who were on the tour with us highly satisfied and had a really good time. Our tour guide, Ben, he was funny and nice. He explained well about food and history of Bucktown and pointed out couple of his interest in town. We couldn't ask any better. My friend is coming town to visit me again and I'm definately taking him on the tour. Hm North or Buck town? I liked North better because I got to know better about the city and its history. BUT we talked too long...and I much preferred the food choices on Buck town tour.

This is the second tour my daughter and I have gone on with Chicago Food Planet and I would highly recommend them. Our guide, Jessie, was knowledgeable and enthusiastic and we enjoyed visiting neighborhoods and restaurants that we hadn't been to before. We are not from the Chicago area and this gave us an opportunity to get out of the tourist areas and see some other areas of the city.

Tour was decent, although I felt it was a bit overpriced. I have done similar tours in NYC for the same cost and those were better (both in food selection and guide knowledge). I do feel, however, that this tour exposed me to a part of Chicago I never would have went to otherwise, so that was great.

I went with a girlfriend of mine and we both enjoyed the entire experience! The food was outstanding and the walk through the neighborhood and "history" lesson made it even more fun! Great hostess! I will return for the other tour on my next visit to Chicago with my husband!

This tour was taken by our family composed of our adult children and spouses and one grandchild (1 year old) to celebrate a birthday. It was a rainy, cold day in Chicago and we were hesitant about walking around in poor weather. From the start at George's hot dog stand, we were excited to hear about the food and the town. Carrie did a great job telling location history, chef's background, interesting food facts, and local architecture. It became a fun adventure and one we will always remember. But a warning....there is soooo much food....take it easy to get it all in! Well worth the cost and the time.

Go on an Empty Stomach!

Fantastic tour of Wicker Park./Bucktown. Great food, great tour guide (Carrie). The food was excellent. Our group was so full by the end of the tour, so be sure to go on an empty stomach as there is more than enough food for a meal. Also a very informative walking tour of the neighbourhood and architectural sites. Highly reccommended.

My husband and I learned about this Chicago Food Planet experience from info about things to do in Chicago. It sounded like "our kind of fun." We chose the Wicker Park walk because the foods to be sampled were more to our liking and it seemed a bit "off the beaten path" as well. We knew when we made our reservations that it was a GO, rain or shine! We planned accordingly when we packed for our trip. Ben was an enthusiastic, well-informed guide, and we learned a lot. The peaceful walk through the Wicker Park neighborhood was relaxing. We loved the charmingly renovated old homes. All along the way, we sampled delicious food while we learned about each place. The love and pride of all the owners was evident. My favorite foodstop was "Piece" where we had a large slice of white pizza and a glass of their site-brewed beer. My husband, of course, loved the "I Cream" shop. There was lots of food (we took leftovers), and a great time was had by all!

Very interesting way to see a Chicago neighborhood. There is enough food for lunch and dinner ( almost everyone took something home). Watch out for the hot pepper on the hot dog. The pizza/brew pub was my favorite, but the unique ice cream was a close second. The homes around Wicker Park are worth the visit even if you don't like to eat.

The was a wonderful experience to leisurely walk around the neighborhoods and taste some awesome, delicious foods and learn some history of the area. The i cream and hot chocolate, the pizza, the wraps well just all of the stops were a taste treat. Will do it again when friends come to visit. What a fun way to spend 3 hours out of your day in touring and tasting in Chicago neighborhoods.
