A surprise treat to see another side of Chicago
Tue, May 22, 12   11:30 AM TomandVesna Female 40-49 International Tourist(s) Group of Friends
We thoroughly enjoyed the food tour through Bucktown and Wicker Park. Coming to Chicago for the first time, we were familiar with all of the typical tourist areas, shopping, sports, theatre, etc. It was a delight to do a walking food tour in a neighborhood we never would have thought to visit. Our guide Kent was very knowledgeable and was happy to share facts and stories with our group with obvious pride and enthusiasm. Discovering another side of Chicago was a surprise treat for us. Thanks for a fun afternoon.

This tour was well organised and Gina our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the area and the food we tasted. There was certainly plenty of food, towards the end I couldn't finish all the tastings as much as I was enjoying the food.

We did similar tours in New York, so we were prepared ;-). We loved this one, because of the nice combination of the locations we visited (many tastings, lunch afterwards can be skipped) and the explanation of the architecture in the neighbourhood. Thanks to our host, who made these three hours unforgettable!

You will love the Bucktown/Wicker Park area - the history, architecture and food offerings. Kent was an fantastic tour guide - enthusiastic and informative. The food was delicious - traditional Chicago style hot dog was delicious, pizza (though not deep dish) was excellent (including beer sampling), falafel the best I've ever had and amazing frozen hot chocolate and unique ice cream. Highly recommend!

I knew I wanted to do a food focused tour while in Chicago and after a Google search I opted for Chicago Food Plant tour of Bucktown/Wicker Park. Not only do you get to try some tasty food..you get to explore a less tourist focused part of Chicago. Our guide, Kent, was knowledgeable and witty - the perfect combination. A great tour for the single traveller or a group. You cannot go wrong - very good value.

A very fun, social tour

Kent was lots of fun - acting, smiling, entertaining The food was not very amazing flavor-wise (Bucktown trip) but I am only comparing it to my European experiences. It was easy to like by all, and the stores were specializing in certain things. The neighborhood walk was fun - some history, architecture, and jokes. Overall a great day, definitely lifted up our mood. I wish there was a bit more food/ flavor talk, apart from the good intros about the restaurants and how they started.
