The tour was excellent with just the right amount of food mixed in with walking and lots of talking about the history of Wicker Park and Bucktown that you wouldn't be able to do on your own.

This was the second Chicago Food Planet walking food/architecture tour that our group of women from Arkansas has taken, and we've loved them both. Our guides on both tours have been personable and quite knowledgable about Chicago architecture and history, and the various food tastings have been diversified and fun. Even walking in drizzling rain didn't "dampen" our enjoyment this year! The Mah Jongg girls from Arkansas

We took a food tour in NYC and now when we travel anywhere that is the first thing we look for. We were not disappointed with this one. Lisa was our guide and she was full of knowledge on the history of the area. We went to 6 restaurants and each was great. We were not hungry in the least. One of the highlights was the original Chicago hot dog. We really enjoyed it. Also the hot chocolate at a place called Hot Chocolate. They made their own marshmallows which was very interesting and yummy. I brought a bottle of water since I usually need to drink a lot with food but there was water available at a couple of stops. We did walk quite a bit so wear comfortable shoes. There are restrooms available at a couple of stops too. I will take the other 2 food tours offered at a later date. They were awesome.

I loved the tour. The food was great and the guide was knowledgable and personable. I had a great time and saw a different side to Chicago, that was entertaining and very enjoyable.

I can't stop talking about this tour! It was so much fun, the food was great (and plentiful) and we learned a lot about the Bucktown/Wicker Park neighborhood. Our guide was terrific--knowledgeable and fun. We went to places we would have unfortunately overlooked..and we will definitely be going back to visit these great places. Can't recommend this highly enough!!

Loved the tour. Thought that it would be only about different types of food, but was pleasantly surprised that there was a TON of information about the neighborhoods we were walking through; really interesting to learn the past history as well. Our tour guide was funny and had lots of interesting tidbits and kept our attention the entire time!

We really enjoyed Kent's food tour of Wicker Park and Bucktown. A nice, unexpected addition was the historical and cultural commentary he provided. We were educated AND got some great food!

This is our second tour with Food Planet and both were excellent in their own way. On this tour, Kent was very informative and personable. He obviously knew the neighborhoods well and took us to some interesting local flavor establishments. Some were gourmet and others well represented the area. All were top-notch. We would recommend their tours to anyone at any age.

Bucktown/Wicker Park was great (not Near North)

If you are trying to decide which tour to take...choose Bucktown/Wicker Park. It gets an A+ from me. Our guide was very knowledgeable, interesting and articlulate. We got full with lots of diverse food. No charge for on the street parking; plus we were able to easily walk from the end of the tour back to our car saving a return taxi fee. The walking distance was ok with good stops and pacing. This was very different from the Near North tour which should be skipped. The Near North tour gets a C- from me. (I can say this because a few weeks ago we went on the Near North tour covering the Gold Coast/Old Town area...It was a big disappointment in all areas. On the Near North tour we walked a lot more, especially between the last 2 stops for just one piece of pizza! The server sent the remainder of the Pizza back to the kitchen! Parking cost was high as was the required return taxi. Two of the stops hardly count: tasting spice in your hand and tasting oil and vineager don't count as food! If you whip up a dip with them... maybe, but not alone! And the guide didn't help either as she said we would get full...really...on cinnamon and oil and vineager!) For all the above reasons, choose the right tour: GO ON THE BUCKTOWN.WICKER PARK TOUR not the Near North tour. You're welcome!

Jeanna was an excellent tour guide. It was really nice to combine the food tasting along with the neighbor culture. Definitely will recommend
