Awesome tour!

I can't say enough about the Chicago Food Planet tours. My boyfriend and I visited Chicago two years ago and stumbled upon the Northern/Lincoln Park tour. We loved the tour so much we knew on our next trip to the windy city, this was a must do! The Wicker Park/Bucktown tour was awesome! We enjoyed each and every delicious stop. Our guide Kent was great. He was extremely enthusiastic and seemed to not only enjoy his job, but also had a lot of pride for his city. I also loved learning all the history and architecture of the area. I can't wait for my next trip to Chicago to try the Chinatown tour. If you are a foodie and want a unique experience this tour is for you!

I didn't know really what to expect but was pleasantly surprised that it was so interesting and the food was diverse and very tasty. We had a group of eight people and that was so nice....not too big. I loved all the six stops. The guide was also knowledgeable about the architecture of the area...could have spent more time on that part. The only change that I'd recommend is putting the hot chocolate somewhere towards the end of the tour. Thanks again....a highlight of Chicago for me.

My husband and I highly recommend the Bucktown/Wicker Park tour. Kent was our guide and it was obvious he enjoyed his job. He had a great sense of humor and offered good information on the area. The food on the tour was excellent! Thanks Kent we had a great time!

Kent was a great guide and we had a good time going on the food tour. The places were different and it was nice to get to another part of the city that I do not normally visit.

This is the second food tour we took. Would recommend it so you can experience other areas of Chicago. They hire the best guides ever. Worth taking the time out of your stay.

This was an absolutely delicious, delightful and interesting afternoon tour. The guide was very knowledgeable of the food establishments visited and sites described on walking portion. Definitely come hungry but at the end you won't be looking for more food. There were 4 people in our group on the tour from a 27 year old (local) to a 62 year old. Everyone really enjoyed it and thought it to be very entertaining and worthwhile. There were 7 other people with our tour and they all commented that they enjoyed themselves too. It was nice that the size of the tour is limited in number because of some establishments but it allowed us to get to know and talk to other members in our tour, who were also from out-of-state locations.

There were three of us who took this tour as a birthday present to one of my friends. We all agreed that this was such fun and informative - a great way to spend 3 hours. None of us have ever been to this location, but agreed that we'd come back the next time we pass through Chicago to dine. We liked each of the stops we made and all the food was delicious. Our tour guide, Kent, did a terrific job and knew his material well. The size of the group was good - only 11, so we could all hear him and move together as a group without anyone being left behind. We were really happy that he pointed out some other places that weren't part of the tour because we stayed in Bucktown/WP and visited a few of these places, like the bar "Silver Cloud" and Violet Hour. We never would have gone back, if he hadn't mentioned them. My friend said her apple pie at Silver Cloud was amazing, and we all REALLY liked Violet Hour - what a great concept - the old-time speakeasy. We all highly recommend this activity if you're visiting the Chicagoland area. We plan to take the other food tour next summer.

Such a fun way to see a different part of the city... I was charmed by the Bucktown/Wicker Park excursion and loved the variation of delicious eateries and cultural history along the way. My only regret was to not have pounded the authentic Chicago hot dog at our first stop. That way, I would have had room to consume every last delectable goodie on the tour!

My boyfriend and i were the first to arrive. We were greeted by Kent. A very warm and friendly welcome. We sat around for about 10 minutes waiting for the rest of the group to arrive. Where Kent informed us we were able to purchase water to walk around with. The group arrived and Kent started giving us a low down of what we would be doing on out tour. He spoke in a very enthusiastic tone and made it intriguing. We had a Chicago Hot dog. My boyfriend LOVED it. I could tell by the faces of everybody on the tour that so did everybody else. I just wish Kent would have eaten one with us. To see how much he enjoyed it. He talked about the the establishment and gave us fun little info facts about Chicago. We then moved down the street. We walked and talked to Kent. A very friendly man. Who loves the city he works in. We stopped in a park and he told us some history of Bucktown and Wickerpark. The only thing i would not recommend is the way he made the city sound now compared to what it was. He makes it sound like the rich had completely not cared about the music industry and the people living there and just made them all move into a different part of town. Just gives a unsettling feeling. we then moved to my favorite spot. Hot chocolate. Where Kent once again was unable to try the Marshmallow and hot chocolate. Where i wish he would have been able to. Kent is a very enthusiastic person. He makes everything he talks about exciting. We then stopped at a few places The Goddes. I just think if Kent is going to talk about delish sweets and have us starring at the delish treats in the case, don't have us sample a pasta salad. Made my mouth water the way he describe some of the delish sweets. We then took a wonderful walk where Kent pointed out everything we were looking out, He spoke like when he spoke it still amazed him even though he knew what he was talking about. He answered every question with a upbeat answer. We then stopped for Pizza. Where they had TV screens of the football game and the cubs everywhere so my boyfriend really enjoyed that. Finally we made Kent eat a piece of pizza. He told us all about where he is from, what his passions were and why he loved the city of Chicago so much. I thought that was a wonderful experience to hear something real about the person giving the tour. We then went on a walk in a park. Kinda scary if your not use to homeless people and drunks running around. He was speaking about a house and got interrupted by a homeless person. Kinda a award experience then. We then went to a middle eastern deli. We were not there long at all. Kinda got a feeling the group was uncomfortable. We left rather quickly. Then took another short walk and ended our tour at Icream. A perfect place to end the tour. Kent really enjoyed this spot too. He ended the tour with many thank you's. A very polite and wonderful host he is. I would recommend this tour to friends and family. wonderful upbeat and yummy tour.
