For those like us, who don't know the city, this was the perfect way to get off the main drag of Michigan Avenue and get into the neighborhoods. The leader was cheerful, knowledgeable about the eateries, the local history and architecture, and it was fun to meet a small group of people who were having as good a time as we were. Food was outstanding! We did this in New York City as well. Comparable, which is why we came back to this company.. Well done! We were with our two grown daughters. Wouldn't recommend for little kids. |

Thanks to tripadvisor we learned about this tour. It was my 4th trip to Chicago, and I wanted to experience something most tourists don't. Kent was our guide, the group was maximum size (15) and it was Saturday. We started with a hot dog Chicago style, delicious, then hot chocolate, which we had to savour on the street because it is a famous place for Chicagoans to have lunch, then a veggie salad, a slice of pizza, a falafel sandwich and instant frozen ice cream as finish. I probably will give detailed descriptions of the places we visited. In between dishes, Kent told us about the Wicker Park and Bucktown history, and gave more detailed information about certain houses that were built in the late 19th century. Overall, the tour takes around 3 hours. Consider taking a bottle of water with you, although water is served in several restaurants. It is a food tasting tour, but the total amount of calories suffices to fill your stomach for hours. Our hotel is in the theatre district, but I am sure we will take the train to Damen for a meal in one of these places! |

It was our first time in Chicago so to get to know the area better and to try as much food as we like, we decided to join a food tour. We read reviews and decided to go with Bucktown/ Wicker park. It turned out to be a very fun experience. Our tourguide, Sophie, is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. You can tell she loves what she does. The places she took us to were delicious and has a bit of Chicago history. We walked around the area and Sophie pointed out old houses and explained their architecture. It was a good way to see a different side of Chicago, and to burn off the calories too. Because we enjoyed the place so much, my friend and I stayed for a few more hours to visit the shops and came back at night to try out the restaurants that she recommended. |

I grew up in the Chicago area and had a friend visiting from out of town. We decided to do the Wicker Park/Bucktown tour. It was awesome! Our guide, Kari was friendly, professional and knowledgable. The restaurants we visited all had delicious food, and we were able to get a break from eating that wonderful food when we spent about 30 minutes walking around Wicker Park residental areas. I learned a lot about the development of both Bucktown and Wicker Park. I highly recommend this tour for everyone! |

This was my husband & my second tour with Planet Food, and it was fantastic! We did Near North a few years ago which we thoroughly enjoyed, and today we went on the Bucktown/Wicker Park one. These tours are so interesting and the food is great! It's always the highlight of our visits to Chicago. Our tour guide Kari was awesome- she was articulate, friendly, helpful, very professional and experienced. We enjoyed our tour very much and highly recommend them to all. You don't have to be a "foodie" (like us) to enjoy the charming neighborhood and all the tastings. Next time we will do the Asian tour! Great company and concept, they have the best tour guides and spots to stop. Can't recommend them highly enough! |

The Bucktown/Wicker Park food tour was much more than I had anticipated. Our tour guide, Kent was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and engaging and made all of us feel very comfortable. I enjoyed the restaurants that we visited because they were indicative of where the locals would go. Nothing touristy at all. I also appreciated the fact that the food that we sampled were, for the most part, full servings: a Chicao-style hotdog, a falalfel sandwich, grilled vegetable salad, slice of pizza, delicious hot chocolate and a sample of ice cream. I was completely satisfied at the end of the tour. Additionally, we got some very interesting history about the Bucktown and Wicker Park neighborhoods. It was fascinating, beautiful and I really loved it and would definitely recommend it. |

Just went on a food planet tour in Bucktown/Wicker Park led by Kent. We had a wonderful time. He knew so much about the history of the area and he was a ton of fun, a natural storyteller. The food was amazing! I don't know that I can pick a favorite, although I am still dreaming about the hot chocolate and homemade marshmallow at Mindy's Hot Chocolate. I highly recommend this tour! Bring your appetite and no dieting! |

I highly recommend this tour. It was both educational and delicious. We were quite full after the tour and enjoyed every stop. I also loved learning about the history of the area and being able to see all the unique homes. My local friends now plan on returning to the food places. |
