Heather, our enthusatic and knowledgeable guide, took us out for a stroll on a nice warm spring day (90*). We got a nice tour of the Bucktown/Wicker Park neighborhoods and had a chance to taste some very nice treats. We also learned a little history of the area and were able to see some of the different architectural styles in the area. This is a nice way to discover other parts of Chicago besides the downtown area. This tour is highly recommended and if you can, try to have Heather as your guide. She was awesome....here's to you Mom!! |

This is a great tour. I have been to downtown Chicago many times but was ready to branch out. You'll take a little tour into the surrounding neighborhoods which was very interesting. I highly recommend taking this affordable tour. |

I never fill out these reviews but I had such a great time I felt like I should. Our tour guide was Carrie and she did a wonderful job!!! We walked through both neighborhoods and she shared with us so much history and architectural details. We stopped at six different locations and sampled food and drink and it was all delicious!!!!! I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and so did my friend. I would highly recommend this tour for locals and tourists alike!!!! |

While visiting Chicago for a birthday celebration we decided to go on the Chicago North Tour. We enjoyed it so much and learned so much that we decided to book another tour at 12:00 Nov 17. We were excited to explore the Bucktown Wicket Park neighborhood. Our guide was beyond terrible on this tour. As soon as she went over the information on the hand out she immediately said that gratuities were highly accepted. Our guide spent 80 percent of the time telling us about her , her likes, and we picked up immediately that she was more interested in drinking. We felt like we were on an alcohol tour. At least three times she stood there and said, "What else can I tell you?". We had out 15 year old daughter with us and the guide even slipped and said profanities a couple of times. The tour itself was disappointing- having to stand outside drinking hot chocolate leaning nothing about the restaurant where it came from. The pizza place Piece was closed to a private party so here again we sat in the hallway eating the pizza and sampling beer. It was at this point two people left because the tour was so bad and the tour guide was trying to find them. Everyone was getting tired if hearing information all about her.
After our final stop at ICream, the 4 of us took off before she got outside for the hugs that she wanted along with her gratuities.
Having been on the tour Nov 15 with Jessi who was awesome, Saturdays tour was a bust. It was frustrating because we were told if we booked another tour that there would be a discount. When I called they to me no. We were just so excited after the North Tour that we paid full price thinking that it would be as great. |

This was our second architectural gourmet walking tour. We thoroughly enjoyed both of them and look forward to the Chinese tour next time. And if you ever offer more tours we'll go!! The food stops were ready for us, tasty, interesting, comfortable and fun. The architectural and historical detail of Bucktown and Wicker Park was very interesting and well presented by Lisa. We can not say enough about her including her interaction with our group. With any luck we might have her as our guide in Chinatown on another of our trips to Chicago. |

I enjoyed our guide and his enthusiam for Chicago and the the neighborhood. I am sure all the visited restaurants serve very good food - but ours were mostly lukewarm because of early preparation. Still I recommend this tour. |

My husband and I are locals, but as a birthday gift to him I purchased the Bucktown-Wicker tour. My kids have lived in the neighborhood, but we just didn't have much info on it. We like historical tours that describe how an area came to be and we love hearing about and seeing the architecture that defines such a community. Chicago is an architectural dream, but of course a foodie one, too! . We enjoyed every stop from the obligatory hot dog and pizza to the more creative (salad, falafel), to the decadent--ice cream and cold "hot" chocolate. With each stop our docent Jade, gave us the history of the restaurant and the community and walked us through some gorgeous neighborhoods that lifelong Chicagoans have never seen. All in all, it was fun, interesting, delicious and we walked enough to get rid of the calories. PS. We thought we were going to have appetizer size portions. Nope. Go hungry, people. |

Kent our tour guide was funny, enthusiastic and entertaining! Very informative and clearly well versed in the tasting areas and culture! Some interesting and funny stories kept the day entertaining and never boring!!! Food was to die for!!! Many, if not all, are award winning restaurants! I'm a chef and I absolutely loved it!!! Small groups means you get to get to know everyone on your tour and some we'll keep in contact with!! If your thinking of doing any tour at all.... Do this one!!! Ps.... Bring your appetite or don't have breakfast!!! Amazing!! MC |
