Unique Chicago Experience

The tour was informational as well as a lot of fun. The food tastings were good. It did require more walking than I expected, and with the warm weather that day, I and my friends were tired and sweaty at the end. Our guide was informed and entertaining.

A Great Way to See the City!

We had so much fun on this tour and experienced a great sampling of what Chicago has to offer. I had chaperoned a school field trip that took the food tour earlier in the spring and thought it would be a great opportunity to show my mother, aunt, and cousin around Chicago. This tour is great for anyone who is unfamiliar with the city or who lives around the city and wants a new way to experience the food and history of some of the best parts of Chicago. I would strongly recommend this tour to anyone. Both of the tour guides that I have seen were extremely friendly and made the 3 hours fun and entertaining. I can't say enough good things- what a treat!

Fantastic way to see the City

It is essentially a walking historic tour of Chicago's northside with food! The food was very good and there was a wide variety... from chocolate to tea to potato pancakes. Restaurants were spaced out along the route, so that you get to walk through beautiful neighborhoods hearing about their history, and then stop for a few minutes and sit-down and eat. I don't know that I would recommend it for very young children, or very old people who cannot walk very much, since the tour takes about 3 hours and covers a distance of about 3 miles. I strongly recommend it for groups of adults, whether they be out-of-town or "locals". For out-of-towners it is a great way to see a huge portion of the city, and for locals, it is a great way to find and try new restaurants!

I can't say enough good things about the food tour! I knew I'd be learning about and tasting new types of foods, and that was wonderful, but the cultural experience went above and beyond what I expected. Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and a joy to listen to as as we walked and ate/drank our way through various neighborhoods. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who can walk the distance. Comfortable shoes are a must--I have the blisters to prove it :)

We took the foodie tour on 7/23/07. Our tour was everything we expected and more. Shane did an outstanding job sharing information about the architecture, history and food. I was very impressed with his knowledge and obvious interest in the sites and facts he shared with us. I absolutely recommend the tour and Shane as a guide!

Food and so much more

We knew there would be food-but the cultural part of the day was just as noteworthy. Our gude was very knowledgable about the food and the neighborhoods. The selection of shops that we visited was unique-a tea shop-a spice vendor as well as the chocolate, the pizza, the candy. We took three tours while in Chicago and this was without question the best. The information about the neighborhoods was extremely interesting. Our guide was fabulous. Hie combined information with breaks and kept us moving and involved the entire time. My daughter just moved to Chicago and she found the information very helpful.

We really enjoyed ourselves on the tasting tour. Our tour guides Shane and Troy were fantastic- very informative and fun. Not being originally from Chicago, this was a great way to see parts of the city we have never really explored. Thanks for a fun day!

My husband and I went on the tour on Friday, July 20th. We had Nicki as our guide. She was so pleasant and helpful and well informed. I am 8 months pregnant and she was very aware of me getting tired or needing a rest room or having caffeine, which I really appreciated. The tour was so much fun and so informative. We learned a lot about the beautiful city of Chicago and all the great small food businesses there. I highly recommend this tour. It was the perfect amount of food, walking and a really great learning experience. I am so glad that I found it and we had such a fun tour guide. Definite thumbs up! Cathy from Philly

Enjoyed the tour guide Guide was considerate and entertaining Loved the interesting facts on the archtiecture Was lead to believe it was a two mile walk, according to my pedometor, I think it was closer to six. Those with health issues should know ahead Thought there would be more food to taste, but enjoyed the walk and the facts along the way I would highly recommend this tour
