Something new and exciting!

Everyone in our party certainly enjoyed walking around the three different neighborhoods of Chicago and tasting various foods and learning the history of neighborhoods. The weather was perfect for the walk, although the leader did not have any control over it, but she was very knowledgeable, engaging, and articulate. We had a ball and I recommend it to families especially with teenagers who might "turn-up their noses" to the traditional way of sightseeing ( on a bus or trolley) for they will find this tour fun, educational, and exciting because there is FOOD, history, and walking involved. The food was delicious, by the way!

I learned about this tour on food tv - and it well worth our time & money. My husband was skeptical and ended up really enjoying himself. Niki, our guide was very informative. Later during our vacation we revisited several of the locations & used the coupons they gave us. Definitely do this tour early in your trip so you can enhance your vacation. By the way the Spice House was our favorite stop.

My husband and I visited Chicago for vacation and took your wonderful Chicago Food Tasting and Cultural Walking Tour. We started out at Ghiradelli chocolates, and it was a great place to start! Our tour guide, Tad, was very organized, alot of fun, had a natural talent for creating a rapport with people. He has an obvious passion for his job. He gave some trivia where we could win chocolates, and then gave us an overview of what we would see on the tour and then we started walking to several really nice locations. My husband and I are fit, so the walking was not a problem, but there were a few people on the tour that were having trouble keeping up. This tour maintained a moderate to slow pace. If you are used to walking regularly or have been on a walking tour before with no issues, you will be fine. If you are not fit enough to walk a few miles or have health problems that limit your mobility, you might want to consider a different tour. We went to a variety of places; a Jewish Deli, a Tea shop, The Spice House(totally recommend going here even if you don't do the tour), a chocolate shop, a gourmet shop, and Bacino's Pizza. Unfortunately, we missed the chocolate lounge due to having another commitment(our tour went a bit long). This was one of the best walking tours I have been on. Not only did we get a taste of Chicago with our food samples, we got a tour of some neighborhoods, landmarks, places of interest, and some background which I didn't expect to get. Tad was very knowledgable and answered questions as we walked and even gave restaurant suggestions. The group was a lot of fun and everyone got along well. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who likes history, walking tours and of course, likes good food!

The tour was fantastic!! Tadd, our leader, was very personable and knowledgeable. It was such fun to see the various sights on the tour and hear Tadd's commentary. And to those who can't believe that enough food could be served to constitute a full meal, consider this: half a potato pancake, a 12 oz cup of delicious iced tea, an entire platter of chocolates, a huge basket of bread and cheese, two large pizzas divided among the group, and to top it all off: two scrumptious chocolates from Ethel's. Wow!!

Looking for something different to do, I stumbled onto the Food Tour on the internet. It was the highlight of my trip since I had already seen the museums and other sights last year. Our guide, Shane, was very well informed and took us through many neighborhoods and gave us a great background of the different architectural styles and history. The weather was wonderful, and the group was fun to be with. The pace was an easy walking pace, and there was a restroom break and two places where we actually set down. My only complaint was that we were not allowed to buy at any of the stops, and they were rather difficult to find on our own. Also, the instructions on returning to the starting point were not correct since there was construction going on. I have a hearing deficiency, but was able to understand Shane's words easily. Make sure that you wear comfortable shoes for even though this comes advertised as a 2 mile trip, I think it was longer, and I walk 3 to 5 miles every day.

Best Activity in 15 Years

Our group of 8 friends has been going to Chicago every summer for 15 years, and everyone agreed that this was the best activity in which we have participated!! Shane was so much fun and very informative. We loved the walk through Gold Coast, Old Town, and Lincoln Park along with the shop stops. We were pleasantly surprised with not only the wonderful food and drink but with the factual information about the history of each shop. After the tour was over, we returned to the The Spice House, Tea Gschwendner, and The Fudge Pot to buy gifts for ourselves and others!!

A Great Walking Chicago"Tapas" Adventure

Our tour on a hot July day was delightful. We were able to see some out-of-the-way restaurants that we would not have seen otherwise, and as we walked from place to place wandered through a terrific part of the city. Our tour guide, Tad, was engaging (and knew a lot of stuff) and walked us past some of our city's treasures. I would love to have a map that showed exactly the path we took.

The guide was friendly and entertaining, the restaurants interesting and welcoming. The bits of local history and architecture were a great way to fill the time between stops.

Great way to see Chicago Neighborhoods

We enjoyed the tour - it was an interesting way to see inside some of the neighborhoods in Chicago and sample some food from popular shops/restaurants within those neighborhoods. The tour guide highlighted some of the architecture and landmarks as we walked each neighborhood. Alot of fun and a great way to see the city from a different perspective.

Will do again!

Fun! You WILL need your best walking shoes. Tourist? Do this at the beginning of your visit to Chicago and you will have a much better idea of what you will want to eat/do while there. I should have taken small umbrella or rain jacket. Zerve was the easy way to get tickets. Thank you!
