Our tour guide was awesome. Martha did a great job at leading the tour, she was very knowledgeable about the history of the neighborhoods and the background of the food we were eating. The owner of the spice house gave a very animated presentation about spices, he was amusing. I will recommend this tour to my friends.

Food Tour was Great!

The walking food tour was fantastic. Our tour guide, Martha, was easy to listen to and knew lots of interesting facts. We even saw sites such as the restaurant (actually a house) from Ferris Bueller's Day Off and the original Playboy Mansion. I found the history of the older areas of Chicago very interesting. Our group consisted of 4 friends, two of which had food restrictions (one vegetarian and one nut allergy). They were very accommodating. Everyone loved the food, tea, spices, oil/vinegars, and desserts! We went back to four of the places later to purchase items to bring home!

Heather was absolutely fabulous - positive, funny, fun, pleasant, knowledgable, accomodating, etc. Since we were local we knew some of the places. Places we visited I didn't really think depicted Chicago, although they were quality places. Tour ran smoothly and lots to eat and taste which was nice.

Jess was our guide...she was delightful....full of information and full of enthusiasm. She offered great info on every facet of our tour and many side stories and comments. We'll do another tour next time we're in Chicago

We had Angie and she was super! Could have done without the Olive Oil place (no food really) Nice walk thru the city, we headed back to buy things at the places we visited after we were done. Was fun, would do again and will look for it in other cities.

We were looking for a tour that would satisfy four of us, three who had been to Chicago before, one who had not. One person is a foodie, one person a history buff. This was a perfect combination. We learned so much and had plenty to eat. Kent was our tour guide and he did an excellent job of keeping us on track and entertaining us too. I want to do the other two tours now!

Loved the walking tour. Our guide was Jess and she was wonderful. Food items were great. The spice house and tea store offered some new info. Already talking about trying the other tours. I am local and really enjoyed meeting the out of town people in the group. I liked that we did get discounts at the shops we visited but could not use while there. It kept it from feeling like we were expected to buy something. The tour was very organized.

Our tour guide Martha was wonderful and the shop owners/staff were all so accommodating and nice. The tour was a great mix of food, shops and history. All 7 stops were wonderful! I have also done the Bucktown tour which I enjoyed and looking forward to going on the china town tour. Thank you Food Planet and Zerve
