Great guide and wonderful tour.

Our tour guide, HIllary, was very informative concerning the establishments we visited, as well as providing interesting architectural information between establishments. She did this in an entertaining way, which invited questions from us, and others on the tour. The food was fantastic and the walk was pleasant. My wife and I plan to include a tour of Chinatown, with Hillary if possible, during our vacation next year. We gave rave revues other guests at our hotel and encouraged them to take the tour, and we will definitely encourage anyone going to Chicago to take such a tour.

It was an enjoyable experience for us to see the Chicago neighborhood and the specialty food places. Learned about tea and its effects on the body, various spices, my favorite of the tour is the oil and vinegar shop. I would definitely recommend this tour to those who are looking to see Chicago from a different perspective.

Best food tour ever

This was a terrific walking food tour of a Chicago neighborhood. Of course it was fun seeing and being a part of the neighborhood and then to have delicious food samples only added to the pure joy of the day. Our leader, Kent, was enthusiastic, sensitive to the group's needs, knowledgeable, and possessed a great sense of timing. The time flew by. One of my favorite stops was the vinegar and oil shop. In fact, I liked the products so much that when I returned to Maine, I ordered a shipment of the products - of course, using my 10% discount. I thoroughly recommend this tour.

we enjoyed the tour: took us to a neighborhood that we didn't explore yet. we were only in the city for 2.5 days, this was a really enjoyable way to spend half a day exploring and seeing some of Chicago. Great guide: lots of fun, informative and well organized. will try to look for something similar in my home city. Definitely would recommend this to others.

FOR FOOD FANATICS

Like many, I, too, LOVED the Chicago Food Planet Near North Tour. Seeing beautiful architecture in neighborhoods that I wouldn't have normally gone through and tasting foods in several different local stores made this tour amazing! My personal favorite was the oil shop we went to, some in my group loved the chocolate shop and spice house. I would recommend wearing great walking shoes because we did not and our feet were hurting at the end. The coupons that they give for the different stores were very helpful when purchasing items from the different shops however, you can't buy items while on the tour so I would suggest setting aside time in your trip to go back and purchase the food you liked the best. This was a great way to see and taste the city of Chicago for all types of tourists and even locals!!

This tour was great. The guide was great at knowing what we wanted to know about. The tour was informative, relaxed and just fun. The places you eat are thought out and well organized. We all joked that it should be called a grazing tour cause you eat a little and walk a little eat a little more and walk some more. It also showed us somethings we could go back a do. Such as the 2nd city comedy club. We had a great time and would recommend to anyone who has a afternoon free. That doesn't know much about chicago. The cost was well worth it in case you were wondering

Our food tour and guide were great! I had done a food tour in NYC a year ago and thought it was so much fun that I looked into it in Chicago and was very pleased they are offered here, too. The tours give you such a different perspective on the city allowing a peek into neighborhoods we would not otherwise venture into. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys learning (and eating!) about the city you're visiting beyond the usual touristy sites. It's a lot of walking, but we figured the calories count for less that way! :-)

Quite fun. We would not have tried many of the places we toured if it not for this tour. However, we have bought something online from almost everyone that sells product online. We are 'foodies' so really enjoyed all the tastes this tour offered. Highly recommend and a must do while in Chicago. Wish we could have done their other tours!

Mixed feelings about this tour

I have been on 4 walking food tours in New York City and they were fabulous. They really highlight a lot of the cultural history of the city and provide interesting and tasty food. You were really full when the tour was over. I thought that the Chicago tour had some interesting highlights--the spice shop stop was great!--but there was not a lot of interesting info about the city. The food that you received was also not very inventive compared to the NY tours. All in all, I would say the tour was OK but not worth that much money.
