One of the best Chicago activities

We are an international couple and it was a great experience for both of us. It provided an opportunity to experience hidden Chicago shops and gave us interesting bits of information along the way. The food was good and the presentations at each location were enjoyable. We had a nice time and would do it again.

Learned about food, the city, and its history while enjoying some excellent food. Visited areas of the city and restaurants and stores I never would have visited if not for the tour. It was great to also learn the history of the Gold Coast and Old Town. Learned the history of spices, the differences in caffeine levels between tea and coffee and how a deep dish pizza is made. Great tour.

Great Time on Chicago Food Planet Near North Tour

My husband and I (Chicago locals) took my Mom, in-town from Atlanta, on the Near North tour this past weekend and had a great time. Despite living in Chicago for over 8 years and being familar with the neighborhoods, many of the stops on the tour and historical facts we learned were new to us. We really enjoyed our guide, Kent - he was very knowledgable and seemed to really enjoy what he was doing. And we really appreciated that the stops on the tour were local businesses with a lot of history in the neighborhood, particularly in Old Town. Would definitely recommend this tour to visitors and locals alike.

This tour is the perfect blend of delicious food and rich Chicago history. The tastings were very well thought out, and exposed us to a wide variety of foods, and as we were digesting, we walked and talked about the cool history of Chicago. As a Chicago local for over a year, I learned a lot about this city!

Really Enjoyed this Tour!!

This was our first food tour anywhere and it definitely lived up to our expectations. We took our 16 year old daughter and all three of us loved it. Our tour guide, Alia, did a great job describing the food to us and also pointing out interesting buildings in the neighborhoods we walked through. Our favorite stops were the tea shop and the spice house, much to our surprise, but they were incredibly interesting and we learned a lot. Reuben sandwiches at the deli were yummy. Deep dish pizza was heavy and greasy - could have done without the sausage. Also liked the olive oil and vinegar. Chocolate place was a little disappointing, as we thought were going to get a fondue type experience and the bakery was a little boring but everything else was excellent. It was a great way to see the neighborhoods and learn some of the city's history. I highly recommend it and would definitely do food tours in other cities now!!
