Fun walking tour. Learned a lot about the history of the area.
Guide was great.
Went back to stores on the tour and purchased items.
( tea , olive oil, spices, chocolate )
Would recommend doing the tour first if new to the area.
Gave us good ideas for future trips. |

This tour was the best thing we experienced in Chicago! Not only was it fun and entertaining for the day, but it also gave us ideas and insider tips for the rest of our vacation. We went back to most of the food places we visited on the tour and we visited several places that were mentioned by the tour guide throughout the tour. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and the food was delicious and plentiful. Not only will we take the tour again when we come back, but we now have a few places that we will be returning to Chicago for. |

PROS: We really enjoyed it. Learned some interesting details about Chicago. We had a great time.
CONS: Alot of walking. Would have liked to have a couple more food stops. Would like to have spent more time towards Michigan avenue rather than going towards Lincoln Park

We had 17 people in our group for the Chicago Food Tasting & Cultural Walking Tour. At first, I thought that was too much, but as it turned out, was no problem at all. Tad was our guide and he did a great job in providing information about restaurants as well as other interesting tidbits about Chicago.
Our three-hour tour lasted almost 4 hours. Quite frankly, I wanted more. I was sad when it was over.
There were a good mix of stops, however, a little too much chocolate for my liking. The tour starts at Ghirardelli where we were given some chocolate samplings. Then hits a fudge factory about half-way through, and then ends at another chocolate shop (Ethel's).
Even though we had 17 people on our tour, there was plenty of food for everyone to have seconds and thirds of each sampling.
The second to last stop was at a local pizza restaurant where there was enough pizza for everyone - and then some! We had a lot left over.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable tour. We walked about 3 miles in all - a fairly easy stroll.
In the future I would like to see this tour extended to cover more of Chicago. A 5 or 6 hour tour covering 5+ miles with about 12 stops would be ideal!
Why?
Because when the tour was over it left us all wanting more. |

We loved walking around the neighborhoods, getting the history of the houses, buildings, parks and restaurants. The food was a great mix of beverages, desserts, appetizers, pizza. Plenty of food. Lots of walking but the scenery was worth it. We have been to Chicago several times but have never takien this tour. It was definitely worth it. Nicki was great. |

I enjoyed the tour in as much as the guide was knowledgeable and very pleasant and the neighborhoods visited were interesting. The tour group itself was friendly and enjoyable. I was a little disappointed in the food selections. I had hoped to get more of a feel of the cuisine of Chicago instead of spices, oils and vinegars and candy. The potato cake at the beginning was greasy (not a good choice) and the pizza at the end was cold and very dry; I think they could have made a better choice. |

The tour guide was very knowledgable about Chicago, very friendly and very fun to be around. We learned a lot more than just about the food and the restaurants in Chicago. We learned about architecture, history, etc. We got to see parts of the city that we probably wouldn't have seen otherwise. The food samples were excellent and plentiful. Would recommend it to everyone!! |

We had a great tour guide, very informative and friendly. But 3 hours is a little too long. I would recommend shortening it to 2 hours to maintain everyone's interest. The food samples were NOT very good... except for the chocolate samples. |

Really enjoyed the Chicago Food Tour. We really liked the Tour Guide Shane. He was very funny and very knowledgeable about the places we toured and also about the City of Chicago. Would definitely recommend. Was very pleased because we took a chance finding it online and we never knew anyone else that had been on the tour. |

We found some great new shops that we will visit again on our next trip to Chicago. There was a nice mix of history, folklore, and architectural "tastings" along with the yummy food tastings. There was enough food for the ladies to call it lunch but definitely not enough for the guys or kids. |
