Chicago Food Tour

This was an interesting and fun tour through some famous Chicago neighborhoods that I was not familiar with. There was a good variety in the types of stores visited and the pacing and opportunities to sit down were well timed. Information about the buildings that were pointed out was fairly general but this tour was really about food. There was time to chat and visit with your companions along the way. The guides were friendly, energetic and very enthusiastic about sharing their love of Chicago.
All in all, it was an enjoyable way to spend time off the beaten path in Chicago. |

Lots of walking, but totally worth it. Overview of the area's history, architecture, and food. Guide was informative and enthusiastic, and clearly wanted to make sure each participant had a good time. |

We visited Chicago last weekend, and had a SUPER time on Friday on a "tasting & architectural overview" tour of Chicago's Gold Coast, Old Town and Lincoln Park.
Our tour guide was Jessie, who did an excellent job of enthusiastically explaining the great tastes that were offered, and filled us in on some fascinating aspects of Chicago history and architecture.
My wife and I would now like to go on the other Chicago Food Planet tour (in another set of Chicago neighborhoods). Next trip, , , ,
Thanks for a fun experience !
Regards,
Dave B. from Cincinnati |

I was a bit hesitant to book a walking tour, as I am not a fast walker. Boy, am I glad I took a chance on this tour! It was fantastic! Rebecca was great! She was overflowing with knowledge about each and every stop on our tour. She paced us to keep it moving on schedule without making us feel rushed.
I will definitely, absolutely, without a doubt, take another tour next time I am in Chicago, and will check each city that I visit to find out if tours are offered there.
The places that you visit are places you would never stumble across on your own. They are real neighborhood businesses, with personality that will blow you away. Don't miss out. You will be so pleased with your excursion!
One more thing: This is not, I repeat, not a buy-me tour. The businesses that you visit are all about educating you, not at all about a hard sell. You can't shop on the tour anyway, but you are provided with contact information (all but one stop has a website), so you can shop from home at your convenience if there's something you can't live without.
I am so excited to visit Chicago again and see more of that great city, especially through the food tours. Now I have a map of where I went, so I can go back and visit those same stops at my leisure next time I am there. |

This tour is a must for all foodies and those who have never seen this area before. It takes you through neighborhoods you might miss otherwise and shows you places you must come back to later. The deli was great, the tea shop is enlightening, the oil shop is inspiring , and the pizza stop spoils you for other pizza. I highly recommend this tour. The tour guide was funny and very informative. |

Great variety of food and drink that I would never have found on my own.
Also the feel you get for Chicago neighborhoods and their history was wonderful.
Our guide, Kate, was very personable and knowledgable. We had bad weather(first rain then steamy 90plus heat) but it was still a great adventure for our group. |

Our group of 8 friends has been going to Chicago every summer for 15 years, and everyone agreed that this was the best activity in which we have participated!! Shane was so much fun and very informative. We loved the walk through Gold Coast, Old Town, and Lincoln Park along with the shop stops. We were pleasantly surprised with not only the wonderful food and drink but with the factual information about the history of each shop. After the tour was over, we returned to the The Spice House, Tea Gschwendner, and The Fudge Pot to buy gifts for ourselves and others!! |

Loved the tour! We would do this again in a hearbeat. It's great for all age groups and allows you to step outside your comfort zone - food wise. I went back & bought from two of the six sites & had the tea and oil & vinegar shipped home. Thanks Jess! |

The tour was great and enjoyable. My only negative thought is the emphasis on tipping. I don't like to be reminded to tip. |
