Tough for seniors

The tour guide was very enthusiastic. We loved some of the placesbut were under the impression we would sit down a little more. My group was seniors and we would have liked to sit and listen and eat. We throught more food could have provided at each place like hors d'oeuvres. So we were a little disappointed in that. We felt it was worth $24.00 not $44.00. And it was a little too much walking for a person with an artificial hip. We all walk alot but I guess because there was no sitting we had a bad time. Could provide more restrooms stops also.

Read about this tour online and decided to book a session during my trip in Chicago. The information that was provided on the tour was very interesting, and the presentations done at each of the eatery's along the way made the tour even more entertaining. Our tour guide (Carloine?) was also very upbeat and knowledgeable. Great tour overall.

You definitely have a good thing going with the food tour, and it seems all agree. Jessie turned the afternoon into a small adventure for our min-group of 4 with her charming personality. This tour doesn't feel like it lasted 3 hours at all as we remained curious throughout and really enjoyed learning so much about Chicago/Old Town and its unique variety of food stores and historic significance.

I had a wonderful experience on the tour. The Spice House was a high point and I especially enjoyed the talk given by the owner in the lovely patio. Kate, our guide, was knowledgeable, friendly, and made us all feel comfortable.

Great Way to See City

We found the tour and guide (Kate) to be wonderful and a great use of our time. We enjoyed the different tastes (something for everybody), learning about the building blocks to tasty cooking (oils, vinigers and spices) and learning about the different dwelling architecture that graces the city. I'd recommend taking the tour early in your visit so you know where to go and what to eat for the rest of the visit. It was quite informative and a way to see/experience insider information regarding the places to dine on fantastic ethnic food. It's enough to inspire one to cook more often. Bring good walking shoes because there's a lot. Though a bit pricy, I'd highly recommend the Northern tour to everyone. Other cities should consider adding a similar tour. Beware of parking...it's steep!

This was a great way to visit places you might never see or might not enter on your own. Great way to get introduced to various neighborhoods and lots of food choices. The food was very good and our guide was good too. There were several questions that she couldn't answer that were asking for more detail about some of the things she did discuss. While I realize one cannot anticipate all the questions they might be asked i did think she should probably have had some of the answers to these questions, especially since they were follow-ups to her her presentation. The only thing that we thought was turn-off was a heavy emphasis at the beginning of the tour on giving her a gratuity--we knew it was appropriate--the printed info we had discussed it in detail. Actually, we probably would have given her a bigger tip if we didn't feel that she was begging. However, we thoroughly enjoyed and plan to do the other option soon.

This was definitely a highlight of our trip and the best part was this was the first tour we did 3 hours after we arrived in Chicago. This tour allowed us to see sites we probably would have never made it to as well as our guide was amazing. Overall we would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to see some out of the way sites and enjoy some traditional Chicago food. Thank you for such an amazing start to a wonderful trip to Chicago.

I went on the Gold Coast tour with some friends and it was amazing! Three hours flew by and I learned so much about the city I have lived in for four years. Each of the places we stopped at were wonderful. In fact, I just picked up lunch from one of the places we went to today! Our tour guide Ariana was fantastic. I highly recommend the tour and ask for Ariana as your tour guide!
