| I can't rave enough about this wonderful tour.
Our leader was Jen and she was absolutely fantastic - from her knowledge of all the sights along the way to how she kept our group of 17 women together and moving from place to place. Her enthusiasm and naturally engaging way made this tour for us.
I loved all the stops and particularly liked that we weren't eating heavy food at each stop. Some were just herbs and spices or olive oils and vinegars.
The only stop that I felt could have been eliminated was the Catering/Chocolate location.
We really didn't learn anything there and the samples of cheese and hummus was pretty average - nothing I haven't had before.
One recommendation would be to incorporate a wine tasting into the tour - a few other people in our group agreed with this suggestion too.
the last stop where we had the spinach stuffed pizza was delicious and gave us a nice opportunity to sit and eat and relax after all that walking.
I highly recommend this tour for tourists and locals alike. Can't wait until I am back in Chicago as I plan to take the Bucktown/Wicker Park tour next! |

| Twelve of us with a variety of backgrounds and interests without exception said this was the highlight of our two day visit to Chicago. Most of us like to cook, all of us like to eat but we were impressed with the details of the family run businesses, the neighborhoods, architecture and history. Our guide Jen was so much fun and quickly related to our enthusiasim. |

| My husband recently had a conference in Chicago, and I tagged along. I was trying to figure out what I could do with myself in his absence never being there before. I came across Chicago Food Planet on Trip Advisor. Once I checked it out, I thought this would be great so I wouldn't be by myself and get a mini tour of the neighborhood (North Tour).
My tour guide was great! Very friendly, personable and she did not over compensate her tour with acting which I've encountered before. We started on a Jewish Deli (my least fav) and continued onto a Tea Merchant that was reminiscent of days working at a coffee and tea shop. Next we did three stops in row The Spice House (Penzey's counterpart), Old Town Oil (my fav), and the Fudge Pot before heading of to a Catering Co. which was more designed to advertise to locals. A place I would come back to if local. Lastly Chicago Stuffed Crust Pizza. Awesome! The crust reminded me of a pie crust, but with gooey amounts of cheese and spinach. In all, my fav was being around the locals who were on the tour and learning the history of the neighborhoods. Especially found it interesting how new buildings that were taking on the deco look and fabricating moss on the building. Hmmm.....Next time I visit I'll take the other tour. Hope I get to come back soon. Thanks, Chicago Food Planet.

| My friend and I were just searching the internet for something to do in Chicago. We are locals and were looking for something different. We came across this tour and decided to take it. What a great find! It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. It had a little bit of everything--food, history, coupons for shopping later at the family owned stores and great conversation between the group of people who never met before. The price is so reasonable. Jen is the ultimate tour guide. I highly recommend this to anybody--Chicagoans, suburbanites and tourists. We will be taking other friends and family and going on the tour again. |

| My husband and I did this food tour while we were on a mini vacation in Chicago. We were a bit skeptical about it but we truly enjoyed the tour. It's not about eating the entire time. It's about tasting a variety of food and learning some things along the way. Jen our tour guide did a wonderful job giving us a bit of history about the neighborhoods we walked through and she also did a wonderful job teaching us the history of food and it's orgin. Without a doubt the the food tour was one of the best things we did in the city. I highly recommend it. |

| We like to get off the beaten track and both the Chicago Food Tours did exactly that. Both guides, Nicky on Nr North, and Kent on the Bucktown Wicker Park tour were excellent. A guide can make or break a tour and both definitely made them. The food was divine. The tour is a must do for any aged adult (one of the tour attendees was a lovely lady celebrating her 86th birthday on the Nr North tour). |

| A wonderful experience exploring the Gold Coast, Old Town and Lincoln Park. Our guide, Nikki, was informed, friendly and knowledgable about the area. We enjoyed the various tastes and flavours from the rueben sandwich at the deli in the Gold Coast to the Spices, Olive Oils and Chocolates of Old Town to the Stuffed Pizza in Lincoln Park. All of which were delicious. We learned much about the history and architecture of the area. We had an interactive and friendly group which made the difference. After the tour, we went back to the back to a couple of the food places on our tour a return visit. The tour was a fun and interesting way to learn more about Chicago and highly recommend it. |
