The food tour was very interesting and tasty. An oil and vinegar tasting place was especially great, but all of the places were worth while. The Chicago pizza was the best pizza I've tasted anywhere in the world, no exageration. The tour guide makes it clear at the beginning that tips are appropriate if we think she did a good job. At the end this is reinforced as she tells people she is going to shake everyone's hand. Money thus changes hands easily. This is not necessary bad; I was going to tip anyway. It was just an unusual way of collecting them in my experience. |

I went by myself while my daughter was away at camp and it was nice as I met a few ladies from different parts of the U.S. So don't be worried to attend on your own. Also, Rebecca our guide was proud to show us her neighborhood and surrounding area's. She also gave us great local restaurant reviews. I live in the suburbs and always get stuck at the same touristy places that all the out of towners end up at so this tour was nice as it gets you off that beaten path and on to where the locals of Chicago go.
I had such a relaxing day and the walking was enjoyable. We tried interesting items and I definitely learned new things about tea, olive oils, spices and much more.
Great day out with or without your friends! |

This was our favorite attraction in Chicago besides Wrigley field. Great walking tour of three chicago historic neighborhoods with snacks along the way. What could be wrong with that. |

Took family (of 4) + 2 (niece & Nephew - both over 21) to Chicago. Food tour was great! Went back and had dinner at the pizza restaurant, bought spices, oil & vinegar and chocolates at places that were on the tour. Also, ate at one of the recommended spots (Bistrot Margot) that was the best meal we had oon our trip. Will recommend to others, will be purchasing over the internet at these places. Emily was the best! |

It was nice to see that the weather conditions were taken into consideration i.e. care was taken to make sure that we were not in the sun too much, that we didn't get too warm and that we had stops in the shade. In addition to the pleasant snacks and taste samples, the tour leader and restaurant /shops were responsible to try and ensure that all of us were well hydrated with plenty of water. Our children enjoyed the pizza and the chocolates and even the oil and vinegar. Parents enjoyed the history/architecture as well as the food. It was a nice way to see parts of Chicago that we otherwise would have not seen on our first visit to this large and beautiful city. |

Our guide (Nikki) a woman around forty was excellent and full of a lot of interesting things to tell us. She paced the tour so that no one was left out. She obviously had a good relationship with the shop keepers we visited. Your add was right about it taking care of lunch for the day. All in all a well spent two hours. |

The Chicago Food Planet tour was great. We saw the skyscraper part of the city on the Historical boat tour, but this showed us the residential, day-to-day Chicago we would not have experienced. The cultural aspect of the neighborhoods, foods, and people was well received. The establishments that we visited were all local and colorful. We'd definately recommend this to others, and will return to purchase singularly special Chicago foodie treats! |
