A lot of FUN!

I went on the tour with a group of six, we all had a really great time. I was interesting to visit all of the small shops like the tea, spice and oil. Jennifer was our tour guide and she was very knowledgeable in the food stops as well as all of the architecture along the way. We had a good time, I would recommend to any of my friends visiting Chicago.

Cross Section of Chicago Culinary and Culture

This is much more than your average food tour. Not only do you get a taste of Chicago's culinary offerings, but a feel for the history and the pride of the people of the city of Chicago. Many members of our tour group stated that they really enjoyed everything about the tour and were particularly taken with the tea, spice and oil shops for their uniqueness. The food items provided for tasting were a well rounded assortment and plenty for my party. I believe all of us were especially impressed with our tour guide, Kate, who was not only knowledgeable and easy to talk to but friendly to one and all. She made the experience even more enjoyable. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get the true "flavor" of Chicago.

Jennifer = great guide. Don't allow kids on tour.

Jennifer was an enthusiastic guide with energy and knowledge of the city. The shop-owners / sales personnel at each stop were friendly and helpful. Wish you had allowed some shopping on tour. Not planning on returning to Chicago any time soon and the merchants lost out on money I would have spent at four or more locations. Children under age 10 should not be allowed on the tour. It's too much for them to keep up and pushing a stroller gets in others' ways, not to mention slowing the group down. Our tour went for four hours (instead of three) because of a mom with her FOUR kids. We missed out on other Chicago site because this took too long. I would recommend this tour enthusiastically to other adults.

Very Enjoyable Tour

The Tour was very enjoyable and there was a nice variety of stops. We enjoyed each stop. Also the architecture part mixed in was nice. The only negative was we felt a little rushed at the end. Also, you were not allowed to purchase because of time constraints, which is understandable but unfortunate.

Always looking for new ways to discover the beautiful city of Chicago. The guide (Kate) was informative, good variety in selection of stops, good length of time. Having owners tell their tales was an added bonus. Can't say enough. Have already spread the word among interested friends.

We took this tour and had no idea what to expect . By the time we were done we had aleready planned out which shops to return to and how often we would be coming back to our new favorite shops. The tour also showed us some of the wondeful neighborhoods in Chicago. I say take the tour and see the parts of Chicago they do not tell you about. This tour only reinforced the magical feelings we get whenever we go to Chicago.

Our tour guide Jennifer was great, very enthusiastic and knew a lot about Chicago. It was great to tour the family owned businesses but I would have liked to have less chocolate (2 was too many) and more deli or other food samples from family businesses. Are there any popcorn places in the vicinity?? Anyway, we had a wonderful tour and the weather couldn't have been more perfect.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour - it was different, fun and informative and our guide Nicki was awesome! After the tour we went back to at least 3 of the stores to purchase their products. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone and especially those with an interest in food. We went to neighbourhoods in Chicago that we never would have visited if not for this tour.

Touring the tea house, spice shop and oil/vinegar shop were the three highlights of the food portion on this tour. The pairing of Chicago history while strolling through Lincoln Park, Olde Towne, the Gold Coast, etc. made the tour far superior to just a "Food tour". Our guide was a pleasure and kept the group moving when required. My wife and I would recommend this tour to anyone. Have a good breakfast that morning and wear comfortable shoes. Enjoy!
