Great time to be had!

Had no expectations when we set out on our tour but we were pleasantly surprised. Heather was a great guide and kept a large group focused and entertained. The portions at several of the restaurants were very generous but we had plenty of time to work it off as we walked through some of the prettiest neighborhoods in Chicago. We walked through areas that we wouldn't normally find just touring the town. We will definately check out other Chicago Food Planet Food Tours tours on our next trip to the windy city.

NOT EVEN WORTH $5 bucks - MUST READ BEFORE BUY

Absolutely Not Recommended... My family and I took this tour spending close to $250 for 5 and got ton of disappointments. I originally was thinking to take Taste Bud tour where the amount of food looks satisfactory, and enough for Lunch. But if you think that you will get food at 7 stops that this tour describes. You are wrong. First two stops has Food (Lunch type food but not enough), and the last stop has Pastry which is not enough for lunch. Verses they make you walk roughly 4 miles (Total). We were there thinking we will have taste of Chicago, but not even close..... At end of the tour we ended up having lunch which was better than anything they provided. Oh by the way, everysingle stop that we made, the Owner/ servers are not even friendly. I.e. we stopped at "The Fudge Pot" and one of the lady in the group was allergic to Peanuts, The Fudge they had for testing "ONLY ONE SMALL PIECE per PERSON"was with the Peanut. The Owner of the store rolled the eyes looked at the group not liking the fact that he would have to provide something else other than what was for everyone. I paid 47 buckes X 5 = $235 but the whole tour was not even worth $5 bucks per person. At the end of the tour we complained to our Guide, who said that she would have her management look in to this, and have someone call me, but not have heard anything yet. It's been a week.

Our food tour of the Near North area of Chicago was great. Heather is an exceptional tour guide. We enjoyed all the stops especially the Spice guy. Thanks for a great tour. We can't wait to come back for the other food tours.

Well paced and good variety of foods and drink to try. The tour was great for everyone, from the great grandmother ( 78 yrs young) to the 20 year old college student in our group. The history and local insite were an added bonus. We all want to do the Buck Town Tour now!

My husband and I took the North tour with Kent last week. He was great at answering everything and going beyond. The ONLY complaint I can possibly thing of with this tour is with going to the Spice place and the Oil place... but even those I can't complain about because we ended up going back and shopping at them later on. I just wish there had been some type of hot dog stop on that tour for my husband.. we heard a lot about Chicago Hot Dogs but never got a chance to try one. it really was worth the money. After the tour I needed to walk to digest all the food so we walked over to the zoo (free!) and spent a while there. Not normally a zoo person but had a great time attempting to burn off some of those calories.

Kent our guide was great! He had very good knowledge of the area and its history and his knowledge of food was fantastic. The places we stopped at to sample the food were excellent. Our local contacts in Chicago recognized the places we visited immediately when we told them about it and we weren't greeted with the "oh its a tourist destination look".. .
